Just in time for the 2nd Zillertal VÄLLEY RÄLLEY tour stop, the Actionpark Kreuzwiese in Zillertal Arena was sparkling in all its glory. Under blue Austrian skies a total of fifty young snowboarding talents from all over Europe took advantage of the perfect conditions to show off with their best tricks and grab for medals, prize money and goodies. Beside all the sunshine, many happy faces were glowing brightly all over Zillertal Arena that weekend.

It was Austrian high flyer Dominik Holzinger who claimed the Horsefeathers Best Trick Award with his “Hardway BS Tailslide 270“ taking home the gold medal of the Open Men´s competition. His teammate Till Strohmeyer stayed right on the winner´s heels and climbed the Men´s podium in second place. In the Ladies` contest, it was Demi van Griensven from the Netherlands who went for gold twice. Demi took the top spots of the Rookie Girls (01.01.2003-31.12.2005) and Overall Women´s podiums. Katja Dutu, also from Holland, put down a similarly impressive performance. She took first place in the Grom Girls (01.01.2006-31.12.2008) competition and claimed the title of the “most impressive grom of the dÄy.” With her silver medal in the Overall Women´s ranking, she finally turned out to be the triple winner.

Jesse Willemsen, also a Dutchman, climbed the Rookie Boys podium in first place. He also finished 3rd in the Overall Men´s Open class. While young Belgian Sky Remans grabbed the gold medal in the Super Grom Girls (01.01.2009 and younger) contest, Tibbe Keizer from the Netherlands captured the top spot on the Super Grom Boys podium. The new winner of the Grom Boys category is Floris van de Velde, also a Dutchman.

The Actionpark Kreuzwiese Shapers are happy about the successful event: “Again, the Zillertal VÄLLEY RÄLLEY brought all the up-and-coming snowboarding ta talents and contest scene to Zillertal Arena this year. Thanks to the Ästhetiker and to all participants of the tour, we´re already looking forward to next year!”

With the second of four contest results, the hunt for valuable Zillertal VÄLLEY RÄLLEY overall ranking points is now officially on. Till Strohmeyer (AUT) and Sky Remans (BEL) take the lead in the Open Class with Sky also leading her age group rankings in the Super Grom Girls category. Jascha Nunez (AUT) and Selin Lakatha (AUT) are now at the top of the overall Rookie ranking. Sverre Dijkmans (BEL) takes the lead in the Super Grom Boys class. In the Groms ranking Anna Tomanova (CZE) and Floris van de Velde (NED) achieved the best number of points after the first two competitions. It is definitely getting even more exciting now. After the fourth tour stop at the Hintertux Glacier in spring, the overall tour winners will be crowned the new Zillertal VÄLLEY RÄLLEY royal family 2022.

For the participation in the Zillertal VÄLLEY RÄLLEY points are also awarded on the international World Snowboard Point List (WSPL). The tour stop is an ASA (Austrian Snowboard Association) Austriacup. At Zillertal Arena, Rookies were collecting points in the World Rookie Ranking. They can qualify for the World Rookie Tour Finals with a good overall result. More info on the points system at http://www.powdern.com.
