This summer, from May 25 to October 4, the renowned Passion Plays take the stage – a grand show (UNESCO-recognized since 2013) that has been reenacting the Passion of Christ since 1623. The play features many residents of Erl, a small town of about 1,500 inhabitants with two internationally acclaimed theaters: one dedicated to Passion Play and the other to chamber and classical music.
