By train to the Stubai: relaxed, environmentally friendly and free travel

Travelling by train is one of the most comfortable and sustainable ways to get to the Stubai Valley. If you decide to take the train, you will first reach Innsbruck. From there, the electrically powered “Stubaitalbahn” (Stubai Valley Railway) offers a direct connection to Fulpmes – a relaxed and low-emission alternative to the car. In addition, bus line 590 is available for the onward journey to the valley. Guests who spend the night in one of the five Stubai municipalities will receive a voucher from the tourism association among www.stubai.at/en/info-service/free-arrival/. This is valid for free arrival and departure with the Stubai Valley Railway or bus. Transfer gaps in the first and last kilometres of the journey are thus a thing of the past.

The Nightjet offers, which the tourism association communicates together with the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB), are also particularly attractive. The Nightjet connects numerous European cities such as Hamburg, Amsterdam, Vienna or Graz directly with Innsbruck. In a sleeper, couchette or seated car, travellers reach their destination the next morning rested – so maximum comfort is offered even on a long journey.

Within the valley, winter holidaymakers receive an all-round carefree mobility package: With valid ski passes from the region or in winter sports clothing and equipment, rides to the cable car stations, cross-country ski trails, toboggan runs or winter hiking trails are free of charge. The ski buses run at least every 30 minutes and take guests directly to the four Stubai ski areas. This also includes the so-called “Stubuss’l” – bus line 595, which connects the five villages flexibly, stops at the StuBay leisure centre and runs until late in the evening.
