Full Metal Mayrhofen – The Alps’ Hardest Festival Is Back for Round Two
Last updated on 16.03.2026
When thundering guitar riffs meet snow-covered peaks, it can only mean one thing: Full Metal Mayrhofen is back. From 23 to 28 March 2026, the Mayrhofen-Hippach holiday region once again transforms into one of the most unusual festival locations in the Alps. Following its successful debut last year, the event returns for a second edition – once again combining international metal acts, festival atmosphere and winter sports.

Star-studded line-up between valley and mountain
Well-known names from the scene will once again take to the stage in 2026, including In Extremo, Donots, Beyond The Black, Emil Bulls and Doro. The programme will be complemented by numerous additional acts, DJs and live shows.
Concerts will take place at multiple venues. From Monday to Wednesday, celebrations start in the new concert arena at the Europahaus – the “Hall of the Mountain King“ – before moving to one of the most fantastic open-air venues in Zillertal – the Forest Festival Area – from Thursday to Saturday. Aftershow parties at the Brück’n Stadl conclude each evening in true festival style.
The vibe will also be loud up on the mountain. At the Stieralm and Kasermandl, visitors can enjoy a varied supporting programme featuring live acts, DJs and plenty of party atmosphere, all set against the dramatic backdrop of the Zillertal Alps. And if you need a short break from the headbanging, you can always unwind with some metal yoga on the Penken terrace.

Metal meets the Zillertal Mountains
What makes Full Metal Mayrhofen so special is its unique combination of music festival and alpine setting. Between concerts, the mountains around Mayrhofen invite visitors to enjoy skiing, winter hiking or a relaxed stop at one of the traditional mountain huts.
Six-day and three-day festival passes, as well as a limited number of day tickets, are available.

With its mix of live music, winter sports, and stunning alpine scenery, Full Metal Mayrhofen established itself as a truly unique event in the Zillertal Valley from its debut – and in 2026, it is once again set to attract fans from across Europe.
