Christmas in the Olympiaregion Seefeld
The first snow falls from the sky, here and there a touch of cinnamon and cloves fills the cool winter air - the pre-christmas season in the Olympiaregion Seefeld brings with it a very special ambience. Atmospheric Advent markets, contemplative chapel hikes and musical delights provide variety for all those who are longingly waiting for the christ child.
Romantic Christmas Market in the Seefeld Pedestrian Zone | 30.11.2018 - 06.01.2019 | SEEFELD
The Seefeld Christmas Market invites you to stroll and enjoy in the pedestrian zone with rustic huts in the Tyrolean blockhouse style. Every day from 2 to 9 pm the visitors are offered everything from culinary delicacies to regional handicrafts, which is genuine and authentic. Noble gift ideas such as high-quality knitwear and beekeeping products, hand-carved crib figures or Alpine blacksmithing can be found at the Seefeld Christmas Market. With homemade "Kiachln", tasty fried and warming mulled wine, families and friends enjoy time together. Musically, the "Klingende Bergweihnacht" with stars like the Kastelruther Spatzen (11. - 13.12.) will set the mood for the most beautiful time of the year. The Krampus parades (30.11. & 07.12.) are a scary spectacle, while Nikolaus has small presents ready for the youngest Christmas market visitors on St. Nicholas Day. The orchestral wind players and the music of the parlour, the performances of choirs, festive masses in the parish church, a specially designed tobogganing hill for small guests and much more all bring special "magic moments" with them.
Chapel hikes in the idyllic Leutaschtal valley
In the 16 km long Leutaschtal valley you can experience long forgotten customs in an impressive way. Guided chapel walks (every Friday and Saturday during Advent) with torches and lanterns take you on a hike through the twenty historical treasures of the valley and learn a lot about life as it used to be. Christmas shepherd's songs and songs round off the evening before we head for the cosy Leutascher inns, where culinary treasures from grandmother's kitchen are tasted together. In addition one meets at the Leutascher Advent market (09. and 16.12., starting from 16.00 o'clock, music pavilion Weidach).
Mösern, Reith und Scharnitz
In the smallest villages of the region, village individuality and contemplative hours get in the mood for the great festival. In Reith and Scharnitz the local choirs organise festive fairs, Krampusse fascinate with their masks and people meet at cosy Christmas markets.
