Finally another eventful summer

With the BIG Family Stubai it’s time for children and teenagers to discover nature again in a playful and action-packed way.

The BIG Family Stubai ensures that families with children never get bored on holiday. Games, fun and action – in short, lots of adventures are on the agenda at the BIG Family Stubai Summer Club. Cheerful and trained guides take the young guests on discovery tours in the forests and mountains as well as on the glacier. Also there are the BIG Family mascots and the “Kräutermandl Kasimir”. Cosy warmth in snug beds, balanced meals and child-friendly facilities are lovingly provided by designated BIG Family partner businesses and the BIG Family Premium Homes.

It’s getting exciting again for kids and teens at the BIG Family Stubai Summer Club. With the supervised Stubai Valley’s family programme, divided into two age groups, children are in the best hands, from 21 June to 10 September and from 4 to 29 October.

Entertainment programme for all ages

This year’s summer programme for children aged four and over features Kasimir the “Kräutermandl (herb man): He gets a visit on the mountain. From Konrad, a boy from the city. All kinds of adventures are bound to happen. Kasimir also knows nature very well and teaches Konrad a lot of interesting facts about the herbs of the Alpine region. He is helped in the Stubai Valley by the BIG Family mascots B.Nice, BIG Bear and B.Fast. On the excursions through the Stubai Valley, which change on a daily basis, the youngest members of the family are thus taught about the natural diversity of the Alps in a fun way. Children from the age of ten can look forward to plenty of action: Kayaking, stand-up paddling and rafting tours provide a cool kick on hot summer days. And that is by no means all: A tandem paragliding trial flight, 13 incredible courses on the high ropes course or rock climbing and absailing down with the Flying Fox in the Schlick 2000 Alpine Garden provide just the right dose of adrenaline.

The hiking areas of the valley are like a huge nature adventure playground

At the Stubai Glacier, kids get an unforgettable insight into how the glacier has changed over thousands of years. Whether at the BIG Family ice rally in the ice grotto, just 30 metres below the surface, or on the TOP OF TYROL summit platform at over 3,000 metres above sea level – here children experience ice like never before. The highlight in the snow kingdom is the giant mammoth at the Eisgrat mountain station. This is a six-metre-high wooden figure that provides fun for young and old alike as an adventure playground and photo point.

Speaking of small, this is also true of the dwarf Bardin, who lives in the Schlick 2000 hiking centre in Fulpmes. Every day, the jolly journeyman there invites you into the rooms of his house on the Stubai Baumhausweg (tree house path). For example, you can visit the dwarf treasure chamber, the dwarf bedroom and the dwarf kitchen. The playfully designed tree houses can be found along a simple hiking trail, where they are spread out between forest floors and treetops. There are lots of interesting facts to discover about flora and fauna on the varied hikes along the nature trail or on the evening pasture, before things pick up again on the fast-paced Scheibenweg (disc trail).

Speed also plays a role at the Serlesbahnen in Mieders. With the spectacular summer toboggan run, the daring youngsters can whizz happily down the mountain at speed. Before heading down, however, water, fun and games await at the top at the Koppeneck mountain station. The water points at the Serlespark invite you to splash around; you can take a ride on the Serles train; and the worm slide and the Alpine salamander playground are just waiting to be explored.

Spending lots of time on holiday with the family is easy on the Elfer, the sports mountain in Neustift. Starting from the largest walk-in sundial in the Alpine region, there are countless possibilities for young and old: Leisurely family hikes to scenic spots below the Elfer summit and into the picturesque Pinnis valley. Sporty climbing tours on the via ferrata, downhill bike rides or tandem paragliding flights by professionals.

One card, full programme: The BIG Family Stubai Summer Card

All children under the age of 15 who spend their holiday in a BIG Family partner business receive the BIG Family Stubai Summer Card free of charge as a welcome gift on arrival. In addition to free rides on the mountain railways and reduced admission fees, the card includes a comprehensive leisure programme that ensures lasting memories. Children under the age of ten can use three of the four Stubai mountain railways free of charge when accompanied by a paying parent. Because the BIG Family Stubai can’t get enough of exciting mountain adventures, the BIG Family Stubai Summer Club has been extended to include its own autumn programme between 4 and 29 October.
