Last updated on 08.02.2023

Skiing in the spring? This is nothing unusual in the Stubai Valley in Tyrol. Even at this time of year, perfectly prepared slopes, an incomparable panorama and regional delicacies await all winter sports fans. On the Stubai Glacier and in the Schlick 2000, holidaymakers can enjoy the first warm days of the year in the snow up until Easter and even in May and get their fill of vitamin D at the same time. The Elferbahnen and Serlesbahnen skiing areas are always worth a visit right through until March. Thanks to numerous offers and events, nothing can stand in the way of sunny downhill runs at the end of the season.

While many are already absorbed in summer holiday planning, the Stubai Valley is going into extra time: spring skiing is just around the corner. Only about twenty minutes away from Innsbruck, the Stubai Glacier and the Schlick 2000 ski centre have a lot to offer for those who just can’t get enough: varied slopes, the first warm temperatures of the year together with soft snow and regional delicacies, which can be enjoyed with a view of the mountains. At an altitude of over 3,000 metres, the impressive Stubai Glacier enjoys the best spring conditions for skiing and snowboarding – for beginners, advanced skiers and pros. With numerous downhill runs, the Powder Department, the Stubai Zoo snow park and plenty of space, everyone is sure to get their money’s worth.

Just like the Stubai Glacier, the Schlick 2000 ski centre with its varied pistes and rustic huts is exactly the right place for all sun-loving skiers. Depending on the snow conditions, the Elfer and Serles cable cars are still open until the middle/end of March. A little tip: children up to the age of ten (in the Schlick 2000 up to eight years of age) travel free of charge when accompanied by a paying parent.
