Charity Concert by the Brass Band of Söll
Around 800 visitors from near and far gathered on 10 July 2026 for “Music Above the Clouds” (Original: “Musik über den Wolken”), a charity concert held on the summit of Hohe Salve. Set against a spectacular alpine backdrop at 1,829 metres above sea level, the event offered an unforgettable evening of music in glorious summer weather. All proceeds will benefit the Söll Family Fund ,”Schritt für Schritt” and the Sölllandl Social Care Association, with donations to be presented in August.
Organised by the mountain railways “Bergbahnen Söll”, the concert brought together live music and the beauty of the Tyrolean Alps in a truly memorable setting. As the sun slowly set over the surrounding peaks, the panoramic views added a magical atmosphere to the evening. The Brass Band of Söll, under the direction of conductor Michael Mayr, performed a varied programme featuring something for every musical taste. Compère Helmut Oberer guided the audience through the evening with warmth, humour and effortless charm.
A Mystical Performance and a Memorable Finale
One of the evening’s standout moments came halfway through the concert, when the Hexenwasser Witches staged a dramatic performance to the piece “Hagazussa”. Combining sound effects, theatrical smoke and shimmering soap bubbles, the enchanting display blended beautifully with the mountain landscape and captivated the audience. The finale proved equally memorable. As the band played its encore, the sun dipped behind the mountains, bathing the surrounding scenery in rich golden and crimson hues. At the same time, the new “Sternstunden” gondola to the summit was showcased in this unique atmosphere, while the newly opened Sky Labyrinth, crowned by the illuminated Salven Sun, added another striking feature to the sunset panorama. Guests were also able to enjoy regional refreshments provided by the hut “Gipfelalm Hohe Salve”, rounding off a truly special evening on the summit.
