La Guitarra Erl 2026 promises to be a colourful, cosmopolitan and moving experience. Under the motto ‘Ritmos de Corazón’, the international guitar festival from 13–15 August 2026 at the Festspielhaus Erl invites you to reflect on what truly matters: the power of expression, the diversity of musical traditions and the stories that artists tell through their instruments. Rhythms that come from the heart and connect people across cultures and continents.
International musical personalities bring their soundscapes to Erl, creating musical encounters of exceptional expressiveness.
On 13 August, the Spanish flamenco guitarist Daniel Casares, one of the most outstanding musicians of his generation, will open the festival. His playing embodies the essence of the duende – that passionate inner force, magic and intensity that have characterised flamenco for centuries. Together with his sextet, he blends the flamenco tradition, deeply rooted in Andalusia, with contemporary openness, igniting a fire of rhythm, virtuosity and emotion.
An atmospheric, intense and exciting concert evening full of southern timbres, pulsating rhythms and poetic depth awaits on 14 August: the world premiere of Julia Malischnig Project & kelagBIGband – Ritmos de Amistad, specially developed for Erl, featuring top-class international musicians and the flagship big band of Kelag, the energy company of the Province of Carinthia. A concert in which musical worlds from Europe and Latin America meet.
The Impulskonzert La Guitarra Next Generation presents selected rising stars of the young music scene on 15 August in the foyer of the Festspielhaus, setting the mood for the evening concert with verve and impressive virtuosity. The two outstanding young talents – guitarist Benno Panhans and violinist Darius Schmid – offer a fresh, contemporary perspective on current guitar chamber music and impressively demonstrate just how vibrant, colourful and forward-looking the next generation sounds.
To mark the grand finale of the festival, the audience can look forward to a sensation: Latin Grammy winner BUIKA. Celebrated as a great voice of freedom, the singer brings an unmistakable fusion of soul, flamenco, jazz and global soundscapes to Erl as part of her current world tour, accompanied by her ensemble. A performance that gets under your skin and allows you to feel the Ritmos de Corazón in their most intense form.
