Last updated on 27.10.2026 | Innsbruck Tourismus
There’s always something going on in the Innsbruck region – thanks to a variety of vibrant events and experiences offering fun and adventure all year around. This winter, the calendar of events is set to get even bigger and better, with new features alongside much-loved classics. Here are five tips for enjoying some truly special moments in the mountains.

1. Simply spellbinding: Ice Magic Innsbruck (12.11.2026–21.2.2027)
Making its debut appearance this year on Innsbruck’s Landhausplatz, Ice Magic promises an enchanting experience against a majestic mountain backdrop. Winding trails of ice are the showpiece of this event, inviting skaters of all ages to glide around to their hearts’ content. Light shows, disco nights with DJ events and mouthwatering food sold from charming wooden huts add extra sparkle and make Ice Magic an absolute must for the whole family.

2. Acrobatics in the air: Airdrenaline (27–28.11.2026)
Sport meets hip hop in a spectacular symbiosis at Innsbruck’s Bergisel ski jump in late November. Airdrenaline will attract elite freeski and snowboard athletes from across the globe and stars of the German-speaking rap scene to the Tyrolean capital under its emphatic slogan: “Big Air is coming home”. The event gets started with the FIS Freeski and Snowboard World Cup, featuring 160 participants, with music provided by artists such as K.I.Z.

3. Peak performances: Winter Deaflympics (15–24.1.2027)
The Winter Deaflympics is regarded as the world’s most prestigious winter sports event for athletes with hearing loss. The 21st games are being hosted in Innsbruck and Seefeld – marking a return to their original location after almost 80 years. Seven sports on the programme, including ice hockey, curling, chess and futsal, will be staged in the Tyrolean capital. Thrilling contests are guaranteed!
4. Magic in motion: Innsbruck Winter Dance Festival (29.1–28.2.2027)
This year, the Innsbruck Winter Dance Festival will be stirring up excitement among culture enthusiasts from near and far for the fourth time with the promise of top-tier dance showcases. In addition to a production of “Viva la Vida – A Tribute to Frida Kahlo”, which is returning to Innsbruck after an eight-year break, this winter’s festival will feature a brand-new work titled “Maria Magdalena” and lots more. Another new addition is the 270-degree stage at the Dogana, bringing the audience closer than ever to the on-stage action.

5. Twice the thrills: FIL Luge World Championships (2–7.2.2027)
Sporting history is set to be made in Igls this February: for the first time, the world championships for both alpine luge and the artificial track discipline will be held in the same place. These events will be staged on the newly adapted ice channel and on the track used for the 1964 Winter Olympics, which has been revived for the medal contests. The action on the ice and on track will also be matched by an exciting programme of fringe events.
