‘High-Bike Testcenter Paznaun’ starts its eight season

Last updated on 23.05.2018

On 1st June 2018 the only cross-brand motorcycle test centre in Europe, the ‘High-Bike Testcenter Paznaun’ in Ischgl, will open its doors for the eighth time. From that day, right through until the end of September around 40, 2018 model motorcycles from BMW, KTM, Yamaha and Kawasaki will be available for anyone to take out on all-day test rides. Highlight of the motorbike season is the „Top of the Mountain BIKER SUMMIT“ from 19th – 22nd July 2018, a meet-up with motorbike fans, guided rides and après-bike programme items.

From 1st June until the end of September motorcycle riders can once again test bikes like there’s no tomorrow at the ‘High-Bike Testcenter Paznaun’. Along with some 40 really attractive test model motorbikes for the 2018 season – including of course new models from BMW, KTM, Yamaha and Kawasaki – thousands of bends and over 30 mountain passes are waiting for those day-long test rides. ‘For the last seven years since the opening of the test, we can draw up a positive balance on how our offer has been very well accepted internationally’, says Andreas Steibl from the tourist office Paznaun – Ischgl. In numbers: since set-up, more than 12,300 all-day test rides spanning some 3.6 million kilometres on the fantastic alpine routes – full of twists and turns – have been booked in Tyrol, Vorarlberg, South Tyrol, Switzerland and Bavaria. All the information can be found at: www.highbike-paznaun.com.

Extensive range of test motorbikes
Cross-brand testing in Ischgl in 2018 means BMW, KTM, Yamaha and Kawasaki . Once again efforts to collaborate with Ducati and Aprilia will be made in 2018. The BMW and KTM brands are the most important partners at the ‘High-Bike Testcenter Paznaun’. This year too they will once again be providing a representative cross-section of their range of models for motorbike riders who want to enjoy a test ride. Among the BMW highlights are the new F 750 GS, the F 850 GS and the new K 1600 ‘Grand America’ and from KTM there is the new 790 Duke.

Extensive testing in the ‘High-Bike Testcenter Paznaun’
Every day at the ‘High-Bike Testcenter Paznaun’ between 1st June and the end of September some 40 current, perfectly serviced motorbikes from our chosen manufacturers are available to test on day-long rides. The cost for a day test upon presentation of a ‘Silvretta Card all inclusive’ – the guest card for the Paznaun region – is 80 or 100 Euro, depending on the bike category, a price which has remained unchanged from previous years. Without a guest card it is 100 or 120 Euro per day. Insurance cover with an 800 Euro excess (deposit required) is included in the price; there is no limit to kilometre usage. Motorbikes are available to take out between 8.00 a.m. and 10.30 a.m., with return between 4.30 p.m. and 7.00 p.m. required. Plenty of time for countless tours in the surrounding area. On request there are some GPS devices available, with 14 different, specifically stored day tours in Tyrol, to Bavaria, Vorarlberg, South Tyrol and Switzerland. There are also print version road books with tour suggestions available. An advice for anyone who wants to hire safety equipment: besides the motorbikes serviced with Motorex products and fitted with Metzeler and Pirelli tyres, men’s and women’s Rukka suits, the latest 2018 Schuberth helmets and Daytona boots are also available to test for a small fee.

Event tip: the highest motorbike meet-up in Austria
Between 19th and 22nd July 2018 the entire weekend in Ischgl will revolve around motorbikes at the ‘Top of the Mountain BIKER SUMMIT’. Whether it is the bike tests, stunt shows, ride safety training, workshops, exhibits, a meet-up with like-minded people or guided rides – each and every motorbike rider is well catered for. Great entertainment and après-bike with well-known DJs in the Biker Village are included. Event highlight: the hill-climb with hundreds of motorbikes via the road which usually strictly closed to traffic up to the 2320 metre Idalp, with a ‘bike blessing’ and Biker Summit Brunch.
