Ischgl summons bikers to the 4th Motorbike Summit

Last updated on 23.05.2018

Motorbike test rides, guided tours, stunt shows and workshops – the ‘Top of the Mountain BIKER SUMMIT’ will take place in Ischgl for the fourth time from 19 to 22 July 2018. The highest biker meeting in Austria is open to all brands and is one of the highlights of the motorbiking season. New for 2018: Stunt shows for a good cause and E-motorbike test rides.

Everything will revolve around motorbikes for four days from 19 to 22 July 2018 in Ischgl as the fourth edition of the ‘Top of the Mountain BIKER SUMMIT’ takes to the high Alpine stage. The programme features interaction with like-minded people, guided mountain bike tours of the region’s winding roads and various workshops. The ‘High-Bike Testcenter Paznaun’ offers extensive test rides of the latest models from the BMW, KTM, Yamaha and Kawasaki brands. The motorbike parade for participants at the 2,320m Idalp, including a bike blessing and biker summit brunch, is a real highlight – and not just literally. New: all voluntary donations made by spectators watching the ‘Henny Kroeze’s Steep Wall – THE WALL OF DEATH’ stunt shows will be donated to the ‘Kindern eine Chance’ association. E-motorbikes from Energica can also be tested on-site for the first time. The motorbike summit is open to all brands. Registration is not required for participation in the event. Motorbike experience days in Ischgl
There are plenty of offers for motor bikers at the ‘Top of the Mountain BIKER SUMMIT’: On three to seven hour guided rides on your own motorbike, you head, for instance, on a 45 kilometres culinary ride through Paznaun, on a glacier tour to the Endless Ice or on the famous, 240 kilometres Silvretta Classic. Special biking groups and do-it-yourself workshops are provided for lady bikers. In the ‘Biker Village’ as well as the usual motorbike test rides, for the first time E-motorbikes from Energica are available to look at and to ride too. Also featured as part of the colourful programme: bike trips around the bends (with stabilisers), a wheelie simulator, stunt shows, a vintage vehicle expo and the endlessly appealing stunt show ‘Henny Kroeze’s Steep Wall – THE WALL OF DEATH’. Open-ended after-show parties at Ischgl’s legendary après-(ski) biking establishments are included. The Biker Summit Night on Saturday 21 July 2018 from 20.30 with a live performance from ‘Torpedos New Generation’ is a real musical highlight. On Friday evening, DJ Instyle aka Marco Jägert from Stams/Tyrol will be getting the crowd warmed up. Good to know: at the ‘Biker Village’, local star chef Martin Sieberer will be cooking up some sophisticated yet down-to-earth dishes based on fresh regional products with the ‘Young Chefs Paznaun’. Motorbike stunt shows for a good cause
Anyone attending the ‘Top of the Mountain BIKER SUMMIT’ can also help to support a good cause. All of the net proceeds from the voluntary donations to watch the ‘Henny Kroeze’s Steep Wall – THE WALL OF DEATH’ show will be donated to the ‘Kindern eine Chance’ association. This supports disadvantaged children in Uganda and helps them to live an independent life in the future. Good to know: the association currently has 180 local employees and only uses motorbikes in its work because many of the roads in the country are difficult for cars to navigate. These motorbikes are used to transport social workers and carers to remote villages to look after disadvantaged children. At present, some 17,500 children are being supported by the ‘Kindern eine Chance’ association. All information: www.kinderneinechance.at.

Toll-free panoramic arrival and discounts
Paznaun guests arriving by motorbike can start their biking holiday by taking the impressive panoramic route across the Silvretta High Alpine Road. And the road can be accessed toll-free for the duration of the holiday with unlimited use. How does that work? If needed, your accommodation establishment can send you the ‘Silvretta Card all inclusive’ voucher in advance which covers any toll charges. The ‘Silvretta Card all inclusive’ is available on stays of one or more nights in Paznaun. It entitles the holder to free use of all cable cars and chair lifts, public transport, indoor and outdoor pools and museums. Discounts are also available on motorbike hire at the ‘High-Bike Testcenter Paznaun’. Booking tip: accommodation throughout Paznaun is easy to book via the online booking portal at www.ischgl.com.

Test a range of brands at the ‘High-Bike Testcenter Paznaun’
The ‘High-Bike Testcenter Paznaun’, Ischgl’s multi-brand motorbike test centre, is unique in Europe. Between 1 June and the end of September, each day there will be around 40 up-to-date and perfectly maintained motorbikes available for full-day test rides from the manufacturers BMW, KTM, Yamaha and Kawasaki. These include the latest 2018 models such as the new F 750 GS, F 850 GS and the new K 1600 Grand America from BMW and the new 790 Duke from KTM. Motorbikes are hired out from 08.00 to 10.30 and should be returned from 16.30 to 19.00. Depending on vehicle type, the fee for a day’s test ride is 80 to 100 euros on presentation of the ‘Silvretta Card all inclusive’ Paznaun guest card or 100 to 120 euros per day without a guest card. Anyone with a valid driving licence (class A) can take a bike on a test ride at the ‘High-Bike Testcenter Paznaun’ – there is no mileage restriction. Safety equipment can also be hired on-site: Rukka suits for men and women, the latest 2018 Schuberth helmets and Daytona boots can all be hired from the test centre for a minimal fee.
