Coppa delle Alpy by 1000 Miglia

Brescia, 7 May 2019 – The new “Coppa delle Alpi” by 1000 Miglia (Alps Cup by 1000 Miles) is reborn! An exclusive journey along the most evocative mountain locations through Italy, Austria, Germany and Switzerland. The race, officially included in the Italian Major Events Championship, is scheduled for this year from 4 to 7 December.


The Know-How of 1000 Miglia Srl, the company that since 2013 has been organizing the most beautiful race in the world, carried out in the first winter event: one hundred cars between the 1st and 6th group, i.e. until 1976, will compete on a route that will cross the breathtaking landscapes of the Alps to fully experience the pre-Christmas atmosphere of the locations included.

Four stages, four nations crossed and four stage winners.

On the first day of the race, Wednesday, December 4, the cars will start from Brescia towards Lake Garda and, after Lake Molveno,the will go over the Mendola Pass descending towards the Adige Valley to reach Bolzano and conclude the stage in Bressanone.

On Thursday 5 December, the second stage, the crews from Bressanone will head towards the Dolomites, visit Cortina d’Ampezzo  and after coming back to Vipiteno will enter Austrian territory passing over the Brenner Pass, followed by Innsbruck, crossing       Tyrol  driving up to Seefeld, for dinner and overnight stay.

On Friday, December 6, during the third stage, the cars will cross the territories of Austria, Germany, Italy and finish the day in Switzerland, in St. Moritz.

Along the way you can admire the charm of the famous fairytale castle, Neuschwanstein, we will stop for lunch in Fiss, then return to Italian soil through Glorenza, a UNESCO World Heritage city, to reach St. Moritz, with a final stage original and exciting through the track dedicated to winter bobsleigh competitions.

On Saturday, December 7, the fourth and final stage, the cars will proceed from Switzerland to Valtellina and Val Camonica and end up at Ponte di Legno: after a night-time climb from Passo del Tonale, the award ceremony will take place at 2,585 meters, on the Presena Glacier, in the Adamello Brenta Natural Park and on the slopes of Piandineve.
