Summer walking nights in the Stubai Valley 2019
Last updated on 09.07.2019
A culinary and musical nature spectacle with special features on 16 July and 6 August 2019
The summer walking nights on 16 July and 6 August promise unique nature experiences on the WildeWasserWeg alongside the best regional cuisine and local music. This year, the summer walking nights go back to their roots – with spectacular innovations. The first of the two summer night hikes takes place around the Grawa Waterfall, the place where night hikes under the moonlight first became successful many years ago. After just under two years of construction, the new Grawa Observatory, a platform directly at the foot of the impressive waterfall, with artfully staged light effects, provides the perfect stage for the impressive nature spectacle.
On 16 July and 6 August, starting at 7.30 p.m., the summer walking nights will once again focus on pure enjoyment for hikers and connoisseurs, young and old, locals and guests. Walk, taste and be amazed as you wander along the WildeWasserWeg. The best regional products from local companies are on display. Linger a while and taste your way through the delicious selection.
Hikes on the WildeWasserWeg are a treat for all the senses
On 16 July, the path leads from the Raffein Bridge past the imposing, illuminated Grawa Waterfall and the architecturally impressive Grawa Observatory to Grawa Alm. Music accompanies hikers and nature lovers as they make their way along the WildeWasserWeg. At various stands, Stubai businesses treat visitors to all sorts of traditional delicacies. The heat is more than just literal as you watch artists perform a spectacular fire show. The sounds of the alphorn players intensify the impressive spectacle of light and nature.
The summer hike on 6 August starts at Tschangelair-Alm. It then continues along the WildeWasserWeg through the Ruetz Cataract to the WildeWasserArena. Of course, atmospheric music also accompanies this event. At a fascinating soap bubble show, artists create huge soap bubbles. The way that the light highlights the water is particularly impressive. Local companies are also an invaluable part of the event, creating a welcoming ambience in the WildeWasserArena.
An experience for connoisseurs and nature lovers that leaves an impression
The main attraction of the two evenings is undoubtedly nature itself, especially the element of water, which is enlivened by impressive light installations. The summer walking nights also provide several other highlights for visitors. One is the herb station, where a herbalist shares her knowledge about the benefits of local mountain herbs. In addition to the scent of alpine herbs, the aroma of freshly baked farmhouse bread and varied specialties of the Stubai Valley will fill walkers’ noses. Vouchers for product tastings can be purchased in advanced from the Stubai Tirol Tourism Association (Tourismusverband Stubai Tirol) as well as on site. Feast with a clear conscience and relish a good glass of wine, safe in the knowledge that shuttle buses run throughout the Stubai Valley. Summer walking nights are just one part of our successful all-round pleasure offering.
In case of bad weather, the summer walking nights will be postponed by one day. They would therefore start on 17 July at the Grawa Waterfall or on 7 August in the WildeWasserArena.
