Skiing, sightseeing and relaxing – all in one

Not only is there a huge difference between city and mountain, but also the ski areas could not be more varied. It’s entirely up to you whether you want to run a piste marathon with a glacier panorama as the backdrop or whether you would prefer to leisurely carve through an idyllic ski area with your family while overlooking the city.

For example, more than 100 perfectly-groomed kilometres of slopes draw visitors to the largest glacier ski area in Austria – the Stubai glacier. Some 26 ultra-modern lifts will quickly and easily take guests up 3,210 meters – in comfort and no fuss.

With the public transport or ski buses straight to the lift

If it’s important for you to be close to the city, you really can’t go wrong in the Innsbruck region, but the following two mountain zones are definitely worth a special mention: the Innsbruck Nordkette and the Patscherkofel are easily accessible from the city centre and can offer skiing and snowboarding fun all along the way – not just for families with children but for genuine freeriders. The cable car ride to the Nordkette starts very close to the city centre.

Resort atmosphere in Kühtai

Ski areas with a genuine resort atmosphere are also included in the SKI plus CITY Pass: Kühtai is such a special place, not only because it can boast no fewer than 46 kilometres of pistes, but also as it is a delightful ski resort with accommodation of the highest quality. All the valley stations are situated at more than 2,000 metres above sea level, so snow is assured. Just a few kilometres away lies the Hochötz ski area, a very popular spot with families. It opens the door into another “winter wonderland”.

A wide variety of pistes in every direction

If you are travelling with your family, you will find what you are looking for on the idyllic slopes of the Muttereralm, which lead through forest. The easily manageable Bergbahnen Oberperfuss ski areain on the Rangger Köpfl has already received an award for its friendly staff, while those guests who want more action will find that on snowy days the ideal conditions for freeriding are to be found in the Axamer Lizum. The Glungezer near Hall (approx. 10 km from Innsbruck) is the perfect alternative for those looking for an adventure in nature when skiing.

In the Stubai valley, besides the Stubai glacier, there are other ski areas that can be explored with the SKI plus CITY Pass. Among them the all-rounder for young and old, the Schlick 2000, and then there’s the challenging Elferbahnen ski and toboggan area, not to mention the Serlesbahnen family ski area, where sunlit winter hikes are an option. The panoramic Bergeralm ski area in Steinach am Brenner is also included in the SKI plus CITY Pass.
