Savoury or sweet, fruity or crispy. On the 07th of July 2019 the restaurateurs of the Olympiaregion Seefeld present the traditional Austrian speciality in numerous variations that go far beyond the classics. In addition to Tyrol’s largest culinary variety of strudels, entertaining folk music, the “Bergkapelle” Reith bei Seefeld, performances from the “Seefelder Plattler” and various attractions for the whole family invite you to taste, enjoy and stroll.

Culinary indulgence is held high in Seefeld and the local gastronomy is renowned everywhere for its excellent standards. Especially for the Seefeld Strudel Festival the latest strudel creations are made in all delicious varieties. With the Seefeld Strudel Festival on Sunday, 07th of July, a special culinary traditional festival has been established on the sunny plateau. The chefs and pastry makers in the region are already working hard to impress gourmets with their level of skills. There is something for everyone’s taste: from the potato chanterelle strudel to a vegan variation with organic pulled jackfruit, a “Blunzenstrudel” with apple chutney to seductively sweet variations such as semolina cherry strudel or Sacher strudel. Anyone who cannot decide what to take can sample tasting portions at very reasonable prices from nearly 30 stands.

A day full of tradition

The Strudel Festival does not only focus on culinary tradition. A festive music programme with authentic folk music and performances by the “Seefelder Plattler” underline the connection to traditional customs. At 11 am the “Bergkapelle” Reith bei Seefeld rings in the highlight at the village square. Until 6 pm follows musical entertainment with Marco Wahrstätter, the Duo Alpenrot, Lohbach Echo, La Musica and many more at several music stations in the pedestrian area. Visitors of the Strudel Festival are invited to come in traditional costume.

An experience for the whole family

The young visitors can join the pony riding in the Kurpark (from 12 am to 4 pm). Other attractions such as tree-trunk sawing, “Ring the Bell” and laser biathlon are also available to test your skill and ability.
