Two days of skiing and barbecuing in the snow at 2,000 meters

Last year, the organizers of Ski & BBQ at the Schlick 2000 ski center in the Stubai Valley proved that a barbecue event also works in winter. The continuation of the event will therefore combine skiing with barbecuing in the snow on two consecutive days. On 9 and 10 March 2023, the German barbecue team “GutGlut” will once again serve the best from the grill and smoker directly at the Panorama Restaurant Kreuzjoch at over 2,000 meters above sea level. DJ Fabian Strickner will provide the musical accompaniment.
Barbecue and grill lovers should keep the weekend from Saturday, 9 to Sunday, 10 March 2024 free for Ski & BBQ at the Schlick 2000 ski resort in the Stubai Valley. At the second edition of the culinary festival, pleasure skiing is taken literally. For two days, the wonderfully groomed slopes of the ski resort in Fulpmes meet succulently marinated barbecue dishes from the successful GutGlut barbecue team.
Even bigger and even more delicious
In 2023, the masterful barbecue team from Germany grilled in front of the backdrop of the Kalkkögel and prepared three extraordinary barbecue creations. Operating several kettle grills, a gas grill and a smoker at the same time was a challenge. “We had our hands full as we wanted to serve the dishes cooked to perfection. I think we succeeded well, especially when I think back to the satisfied faces of the visitors and the empty plates,” recalls team boss Michael Hoffmann of the first edition last year.
This year, the event will be even bigger and even more delicious. “Due to the success of Ski & BBQ 2023, we have decided to extend the event to two days this time and thus offer even more great dishes. On Saturday there will be salmon, venison and pork and on Sunday Alpine prawns, beef and pulled chicken burgers,” says Susanne Mayr, Marketing Manager at Schlick 2000 Ski Center, who is already looking forward to the event.
The event starts at 11 am. Tasting portions will be handed out directly at the barbecue station on presentation of purchased vouchers, while stocks last. DJ Fabian Strickner will provide the chilled-out sound on site.
Grill team “GutGlut”
Team boss Michael Hoffmann and his team of amateur chefs from “GutGlut” are celebrating their 25th anniversary this year and can look back with pride on a highly successful time. They are six-time German barbecue champions, runner-up world barbecue champion and Barbecue Champion of the World.
