The SkiWelt News insanely compact.

Winter 2024-25
Not a year without improvements. Not a year without investment. This year, the SkiWelt mountain railway companies are investing over 27 million euros to make the ski area even more modern and sustainable and to offer new services. The new buildings represent a new dimension in comfort and service in one of the largest and most sustainable ski areas in the world.
Insanely strong. Insanely sustainable. The 8-seater Eibergbahn is the highest-capacity and one of the most energy self-sufficient chairlifts in the world.
SkiWelt Scheffau. The new 8-seater Eibergbahn is being built on the same route and, with a dynamic transport capacity of up to 4,570 passengers per hour, will be the world’s most powerful detachable chairlift. It has a maximum travelling speed of 5 m/s and is equipped with seat heating, but of course without a bonnet for wind-related reasons. In the interests of energy efficiency and resource conservation, variable seat insertion will be possible from a minimum of 16 seats, depending on requirements. A centrepiece of the new Eibergbahn will be the new 140 kWP PV system on the roof of the valley station of the Eibergbahn. This will enable around 50% of the annual energy required to be generated by the cable car itself. Another milestone in the SkiWelt mountain railway’s complete energy efficiency. Incidentally, the old Eiberg lifts are not yet retiring – they have been sold in their entirety and will start their second cable car life after a general refurbishment overseas.
- Type: 8 CLD/B | with seat heating
- Speed: 5m/s
- Conveying capacity: up to 4570 P/h

SkiWelt Söll starts the 2024/25 winter season with electricity from its own small hydropower plant
SkiWelt Söll. Thanks to the construction of the small hydropower plant on the Stampfanger stream, Bergbahnen Söll will be able to cover around 25% of its annual energy requirements itself from December 2024. If you look at summer operations from May to October, both gondola lifts to Hexenwasser and Hohe Salve can be operated almost entirely energy self-sufficiently thanks to this self-produced energy.
“Energy self-sufficient operation – with the construction of our small hydropower plant, we are taking a big step in this direction! For this reason, Bergbahnen Söll has taken the opportunity to invest in a small hydroelectric power plant right next to the valley station,” says Mario Gruber, Managing Director of Bergbahnen Söll.
- Maximum output: 380 KW
- Annual output: 1.500.000 kW/h
Insanely ecological – New Aiblboden reservoir for even more sustainability.
SkiWelt Westendorf. Valley runs and practice areas in the valley in SkiWelt Westendorf are guaranteed snow. The new Aiblboden lake makes it possible. The new 90,000m³ Aiblboden Lake is a natural snow pond near the middle station of SkiWelt Westendorf. “The aim is to be able to make technical snow on the valley runs and all areas close to the valley, including the popular ski-in & ski-out practice meadow area in the village centre, even during short snowmaking windows. Another advantage is that the water is already there in autumn when needed and is also available at a much colder temperature, meaning that the mountain railways can also make snow in an even more resource-efficient way. In the course of the construction work, the pistes will also be adapted. Run 110 in the “Ellmerer Schlag” area will be widened, making it safer,” says Stefan Grafl, Managing Director of Bergbahn Westendorf.
Giant panorama viewing platform
SkiWelt Brixen im Thale. A new giant panoramic experience awaits all skiers in SkiWelt Brixen at the top station of the Zinsberg cable car. Easily accessible by passenger lift or stairs, skierscan enjoy a 360° panorama at the top that they have never seen before. Visitors can also use 3 Viscope binoculars free of charge to discover the mountain peaks. The giant relaxation zone with huge hands and feet invites you to linger. By the way: from next winter, pedestrians will also be able to use the Zinsberg cable car and enjoy the giant panorama at the top. From this winter, the Zinsbergbahn will also be part of the SkiWelt Winter Hiking Pass.
This pass includes 2 different ascents and descents per day (morning + afternoon) on all SkiWelt access lifts and now also includes the Zinsbergbahn. (Exception Ki-West) The ticket is only valid for pedestrians without ski equipment.
Haunted Kinderland with mini conveyor belt and a natural ice rink on Hochsöll
SkiWelt Söll. A completely new winter wonderland is being created this year, freely accessible for young and old in Hochsöll. At the middle station below the Hexenwasser gondola station, a natural ice rink, a winter playground for romping around in the snow, a small fun conveyor belt for first experiences with skis and a relaxation area with sun loungers are planned. In the heated gingerbread house right next to the ice rink, little ones can borrow equipment for sliding and playing for free. While stocks last. The new winter adventure trail for pedestrians to the Stöcklalm also starts from here.
All valid ski pass tickets (SkiWelt, SuperSkiCard, SnowCardTirol), the winter hiking maps and additionally there is a separate mountain and valley ticket from the Bergbahnen Söll (adults: 21.00 EUR & children 10.50 EUR).
