Stubai Ultratrail 2026 – powered by SCOTT: Record registrations
Last updated on 08.06.2026
The Stubai Ultratrail 2026 – powered by SCOTT – is becoming a real crowd puller before the starting signal at the beginning of July. The alpine trail running event with five distances and its own Stubai Kids Trail will attract runners from home and abroad to the Stubai Valley on the Ultratrail-weekend from 3 to 4 July 2026. With the start and finish of all routes in the centre of Neustift and the newly introduced 100-kilometre distance STUBAI 100, the event has already recorded 1,500 registrations – as many as there were participants at the starting line last year.

Record registrations and compact event centre
One month before the race, the field of participants is impressively filled: 1,500 runners have registered for the five distances as well as the Stubai Kids Trail, thus setting a new benchmark in the history of the event at an early stage. The further development of the format is paying off. For the first time, there will be a distance of over 100 kilometres, and at the same time the start and finish of all routes were already located in the centre of Neustift last year, creating a compact event centre with festival character. “We are absolutely thrilled with the high number of registrations,” says Adrian Siller, chairman of the Stubai Tourism Association. “The fact that we already have as many entries as there were starters at the starting line last year is a strong signal from the trail running community. This is probably also due to the fact that we are offering a distance of over 100 kilometers for the first time and have moved the start and finish of all routes to the same place. The atmosphere in the village centre and the new royal distance are very well received by the athletes.”

STUBAI 100: New 100-kilometre distance in the heart of the Alps
With the STUBAI 100, a 100-kilometre route with around 5,800 metres of altitude difference will celebrate its premiere in 2026 – designed as the royal distance in alpine trail running. It complements the existing runs from the shorter STUBAI SUNNENSEIT’N TRAIL to the proven ultra and marathon routes and makes the Stubai Valley even more of a stage for ambitious mountain runners. Ultra trail runner David Stuefer from Team SCOTT is looking forward to the new distance with anticipation: “I’m really looking forward to the STUBAI 100. It’s great that there is now also a route with this length at the Stubai Ultratrail. As a Tyrolean, I know the Stubai Valley and am particularly looking forward to running in this familiar terrain. The combination of technically demanding passages, long climbs and the impressive mountain scenery make the valley perfect for such a format – I’m really looking forward to that.”

Trail running festival in the centre of Neustift – with Kids Trail premiere
All routes of the Stubai Ultratrail 2026 start and end in the centre of Neustift. A compact trail running festival is being created there with short distances, ideal conditions for supervisors and accompanying persons as well as numerous points where fans can cheer on the runners loudly. The Stubai Kids Trail, which will be held for the first time in 2026, is deliberately aimed at the next generation of trail runners – children can gain their first racing experience and experience the special atmosphere of the event up close.

From the new Kids Trail to the 100-kilometre royal distance, participants and spectators can expect a sporty weekend with a real alpine atmosphere.
