The big event marathon in the Stubai Valley

Last updated on 13.12.2022

An eventful winter season from December to March

In addition to the unique winter sports on offer, major events are once again being held this season throughout the Stubai Valley, stretching across the four ski regions of Stubai Glacier, Schlick 2000, Elferbahnen and Serlesbahnen. The Stubai Valley has events to suit everyone, whether you’re young or old, here with your family or have come with your friends. It’s all there: from Christmas markets to hiking nights, ski night shows and a Freeride Testival on the glacier to culinary highlights at a Ski & BBQ event in Schlick 2000.

Eventful end to the year in the Stubai Valley

The customs and traditions of the Stubai winter will come alive once more this season. Feel them, experience them and taste them. Christmas markets will be held in the villages of the Stubai Valley right up until the end of the year. A new, very special market is being held this year in Fulpmes under the motto “Advent at the Boarschmied” On 17/18 and 23 December, alongside culinary Christmas treats, the forging history of Fulpmes will take centre stage.

If you want to get even more of that Christmas market feeling and fully enjoy the festive season, the Christmas market in Milders – a district of Neustift – is the place to be. There you’ll find culinary, contemplative and entertaining treats & delicacies on offer every Friday and Saturday throughout December. This includes a storyteller, who delights the youngest visitors every Saturday. The Christmas market then comes to a close after Christmas, on Friday 30 December, with a pre-New Year’s Eve party.

Families with their children can already experience something similar on Thursday, 29 December at the BIG FAMILY Pre-New Year’s Eve Party at Kampler Lake in Neustift. From 5:00 p.m., see the last days of the old year out at a concert by Donikkl that you can take part in, with transformations at the make-up station, fire shows and a colourful fireworks display.

A special hiking experience with the winter hiking nights

There’s a lot going on in the new year too with the winter hiking nights in the Klausäuele Nature Active Park in Neustift – a popular series of events being held four times between 10 January and 14 February 2023. On these four evenings, the discreetly illuminated winter landscape once again offers visitors a unique, natural experience that knows how to impress with its range of art, food and entertainment on offer. Numerous attractions you won’t want to miss await: There’s guaranteed variety on dog-sledding trips, during a horse-drawn carriage ride, when curling, ice skating or marvelling at the ice carvers. Visitors can enjoy genuine Tyrolean specialities at the gourmet stalls on the grounds of the Nature Active Park and the free shuttle buses to take you there and back make it easy and relaxing to get there.

Just like the winter hiking nights in Neustift, the Serles Winter Hiking Night in Mieders on Tuesday, 21 February 2023 is perfect for any enthusiastic night hiker. The Serlesbahn gondolas take you high up to the paths around the Serles Lakes, which are illuminated with LED lights. Here, you’ll find torch-lit hikes and other unforgettable experiences on offer, including night tobogganing and walking acts by various artists. Your physical well-being is catered for at the Koppeneck mountain restaurant and the Ochsenhütte hut, where celebrations can go on until 10:30 p.m. Afterwards, travel back on the free shuttle bus from Schönberg to Volderau.

It’s going to get fiery and colourful with the Night of Colours

Opposite Mieders, in the Schlick 2000 ski centre in Fulpmes, it’s going to get fiery and colourful again at the “Night of Colours” ski night shows. There will be eight LED light and fire shows this winter from 28 December held every Wednesday by the “Anta agni” group, skiing demonstrations by the Stubai ski school and demonstrations by the Pistenbully snow groomers, the “Stoanbeissern” motocross riders and a demonstration by an illuminating helicopter. The show starts at 8:30 p.m. after DJ Fabian Strickner has helped get everyone in the mood from 7:30 p.m. An action-packed evening awaits every toboggan fan on the illuminated valley descent at Schlick 2000, open from 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
