We are family!

Summer holidays with the children, grandma and grandpa? It's all the rage! Three-generation holidays benefit the children, the parents and the grandparents equally. But where to go? To Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis of course! On the sunny high plateau above the Upper Inntal valley in Tyrol, young and old are sure to come together.

In the mornings, while mom and dad conquer a panoramic summit with the help of a lift, the grandparents can watch their grandchildren play at the interactive water park Murmliwasser. Or they enjoy the view on one of the short, accessible hiking trails. At midday the whole family gets together for a meal in one of the many chalets or mountain restaurants overlooking the rooftops of Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis. And in the evenings, mummy and daddy can relax again with a good glass of wine, while grandma reads a story or sings the very little ones to sleep and grandpa loses again at Uno. Three-generation holidays are good for everyone!

Good planning is half the job: quality time for all!
A common holiday with parents, children and grandparents greatly enriches the lives of all three generations. Everyone gets what they need: the parents, often stressed by their daily lives, can finally take a breather. The children get what they want most: fun, excitement – and chocolate! Grandma and grandpa are responsible for providing the latter on the holiday. Items one and two are provided courtesy of the holiday region Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis. The three mountain villages in the Upper Inntal valley in Tyrol are very child friendly and have lots of holiday excitement and relaxation in store for all three generations.

Sometimes, the parents only bring grandma and grandpa to babysit. Or the grandparents really want to spend 24 hours a day spoiling the children during the holiday. Both inevitably result in conflict. It is therefore important for all family members to articulate their desires and expectations before embarking on the trip. Ideally, everyone of the grown-ups gets some off time – and the little ones are also allowed to make a decision now and then! The destination is also very important. It should have something to offer every generation. And Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis does – which is why it is one of the most beloved family holiday destinations in the Alps. Here, everything is built around the slogan "We are Family!". This summer and until 18 October, the holiday region offers perfect possibilities for sports, games, enjoyment and relaxation for the whole family.

The perfect holiday: excitement for the children, relaxation for the grown-ups
A three-generation holiday does not need to be long. A weekend together, away from the everyday drag, already provides an opportunity for grandchildren and grandparents to get to know each other better and to cement the relationship. Better to first spend an extended (test) weekend with grandma and grandpa before jetting off for two weeks to the other end of the world. Oh, and the journey should not lead too far away from home. Better to quickly pack the grandparents into the car and drive off to Tyrol than to fly somewhere far away. And once arrived at the sunny high plateau at around 1,400 metres above sea level, the car will also get a summer break. In the three villages, the roads to (holiday) happiness are very short. The hiking trails usually start in view of the accommodation. And to get to the neighbouring village, it's best to use the hikers' bus or the gondola lifts – for free, thanks to the "Super. Sommer. Card.".

Whether on the Pirates' Trail, the Witches' Trail or the Explorers' Trail, in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis hiking never gets boring! And the many pram-friendly themed trails, like the new Source Trail, are perfect not just for families with small children, but also for the grandparents. Active leisure time is just as good for the grandchildren as it is for the grandparents. And for the parents too, of course. The joint hikes will make grandma and grandpa immediately feel a few years younger, and the children will be happy to have them all to themselves for once.

The three relaxed activity villages: perfect infrastructure for all generations
The three small villages of Serfaus, Fiss and Ladis are very big when it comes to family-friendly holiday action! With the Schneisenfeger Family Coaster at the Alpkopf above Serfaus, young and old can zip down at 40 km/h from the summit to the Hög Adventure Park. And the oversized giant swing called Skywing will titillate the senses of big and little heroes alike. And what about the grandparents? Psychologists know that just watching is enough to rejuvenate body and soul. So grandma and grandma can still participate in the family fun even if they are not quite so limber anymore. Numerous feel-good stations with ergonomic loungers and comfortable hammocks are dotted all around Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis, inviting the grandparents to get cosy and comfortable. And by the way: with over 2,000 hours of sun in the year, the holiday region has a definite tanning advantage. And the summer sun makes everyone happy!
