Family friendliness is a top priority in the Stubai Valley. Thanks to the BIG Family Stubai offer, families with children have been spending unforgettable holidays in the snow for many years now. Members include accommodation providers, snow sports schools, ski shops with hire facilities, restaurants and the valley’s four ski areas. They all contribute to the fact that the Stubai Valley has been honoured several times for its family friendliness and is one of the certified Tyrolean family ski regions. Children under the age of ten receive special benefits: When accompanied by a paying parent, they receive their ski passes free of charge and they also receive generous discounts from ski hire companies.

A wide range of offers specially tailored to families and an attractive price-performance ratio make a winter family holiday in the Stubai Valley an experience.

For children under ten: free skiing and equipment hire

Parents with children who spend their skiing holiday in the Stubai Valley have the choice between cosy, smaller ski areas and Austria’s largest glacier ski area, which reaches up to 3,210 metres above sea level and guarantees snow until May. They all have one thing in common: whether on the Stubai Glacier, in the Schlick 2000, at the Serlesbahnen in Mieders or the Elferbahnen in Neustift – in all four ski areas, the ski pass for children up to the age of ten is free, if at least one parent buys a ski pass in the same ticket category. And this applies not only to day ski passes, but also to ski passes that cover several days. Even with the new Stubai ski pass, which is issued for all four ski areas for four days or more. The Stubai ski pass offers pure variety and illustrates the wide range of offers for skiers of all ages.

In addition, many ski hire shops in the valley and on the mountain have already adopted the ski pass price model. In almost all sports shops with hire facilities, children under the age of ten can rent ski- and snowboard-equipment for free or at a reduced price if at least one parent rents equipment as well.

Winter fun with the whole family

Before young winter sports enthusiasts whizz down the slopes, they need to learn the right techniques. Highly qualified ski and snowboard instructors from the Stubai snow sports schools are on hand to help. Skiing is taught to children from the age of four at the BIG Family Children’s and Youth Ski Camp on the Stubai Glacier and in BIG Ron’s Kinderland at the Schlick 2000 Ski Centre. They are also welcome to join in with their parents. The valley’s ski schools offer special activities such as taster courses or family or private lessons at reduced rates, allowing you to spend time together while skiing and experiencing the joys of winter in the Stubai Valley.

Loving childcare

If the parents want to be out on the piste on their own, that’s no problem in the Stubai Valley. In addition to the colourful BIG Family Kinderland, the Stubai Glacier also has a BIG Family Kindergarten and a spacious BIG Family children’s restaurant. At the Schlick 2000 ski centre, the little ones are very welcome in BIG Ron’s ‘Kindernestl’ from the age of one and are looked after by loving carers.

Family holidays with a plus in service

But the BIG Family doesn’t just provide great offers in the ski areas, but also in the valley. BIG Family restaurants serve delicious children’s menus and fulfil any special requests from younger guests. BIG Family Premium Homes and BIG Family partner establishments are available for accommodation. These are accommodations that are specially designed to meet the needs of children and can be booked individually or via specially created holiday packages on the Stubai Tirol Tourist Board website. In these hotels, guests also receive the BIG Family Stubai Winter Card. A card that guarantees children from five to 15 years of age discounts at ski schools, the StuBay adventure pool or the ice rinks. And as if that wasn’t enough, the BIG Family organises several colourful festivals during the winter season. An unforgettable winter holiday with the family is therefore guaranteed in the Stubai Valley in every respect and for every holiday budget.
