True highlights: the 5 Tirolean glaciers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Snow has fallen on the glaciers over the last few days and eager anticipation of carving your first turns down the slopes increases with every new picture published. The formula “higher is better” definitely applies here, especially at the start of the season. Which makes the 5 Tirolean glaciers the perfect place to be: where you can ski on the glacier ski areas in Kaunertal, Pitztal, S\u00f6lden, Stubai and Hintertux\u00b4at over 3,000 metres above sea-level and there is ample space for fun on the slopes.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can ski your first few kilometres of the new winter season here as early as October. Wide carving turns on freshly groomed slopes awaken a special kind of happiness that can only be found up here at over 3,000 metres. Moreover, each of the 5 Tirolean glaciers has its own unique highlights to offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Things get literally high on the Pitztal Glacier, Austria’s highest ski area. The highest coffee house in Tirol, Caf\u00e9 3440, offers a sensational view of the \u00d6tztal Alps and over 50 three-thousand-metre-high peaks. Go deep instead of high in the unique ice world on the Hintertux Glacier where, after a day of skiing on the slopes and fun slopes, you can take a tour of the impressive Nature\u2019s Ice Palace. Probably the best-known glacier ski area in S\u00f6lden offers plenty of action. Racetracks and fun parks provide the perfect mix of adrenaline, speed and feeling of freedom. Elements also appreciated by none other than James Bond. Those wanting to immerse themselves in the world of secret agents and get into the scenes of “Spectre”, which were filmed around S\u00f6lden, need look no further than Elements 007. Kaunertal Glacier may not be an action film set, but it offers a magnificent panorama and views of the three countries instead. In addition to the “Black Ibex” – the steepest prepared downhill run in Austria – the area offers many blue slopes where people of every age can learn to ski. Not the highest or the steepest, but the largest glacier ski area with lots of attractions for children can be found on the Stubai Glacier.  Snow carousel, children’s restaurant and 36 slopes ensure that you will never want to leave. And if you do, then only via the downhill valley run, which encompasses a length of ten kilometres and a good 1,500 metres in altitude from the Wildspitz mountain station down to the valley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
