Varied range of winter activities for young and old<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Stubai Valley and families? They\u2019re a perfect match, both in summer as well as winter. A winter sports paradise awaits both young and old in all four ski resorts, which can be reached from Innsbruck in just 20 minutes by car. That makes skiing, tobogganing, or eating traditional Austrian desserts, like the \u2018Kaiserschmarren\u2019, twice as much fun in the Stubai Valley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BIG Family Stubai Glacier<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

If you think that the Stubai Glacier <\/strong>is only for pros, then you\u2019re way off. At the Gamsgarten mountain station, both kids and teens can practice their first turns, fine-tune their skills and make new friends. The BIG Family Ski Camp <\/strong>is open until April 2023, and it offers four- to fifteen-year-olds the perfect way to discover the world of snow on a flat and separate area. Children three and up are the happiest in the BIG Family Kindergarten<\/strong> where they get to play, dance, sing and do crafts, and the BIG Family Kinderrestaurant<\/strong> also features a play area for kids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once the basics have been mastered, it\u2019s time to move on to one of the other countless offers at the Stubai Glacier. Advanced athletes can hit up either the BIG Family Boardercross<\/strong> with its steep turns and bumpy terrain, the BIG Family Fun Slope<\/strong> and its course featuring jumps, bumps and a high five with the mountain mascot \u2018Zottel\u2019, or the BIG Family Slalom<\/strong> where they can hone their cornering skills. Higher up the mountain, on the snow of the Eisjoch, the freestyle stars of tomorrow can grind small obstacles and hit the kicker in the Winter Snowpark<\/strong>. BIG Family Pistenbully Riding, which lets kids ride along in the snow groomer and lets them take a look behind the scenes, takes place every Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Baby turns in the Schlick 2000 ski resort<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

BIG Ron and the ski instructors and childcare workers look after the little ones in BIG Ron\u2019s Kinderland <\/strong>\u2013 a ski area for children. At the Froneben mid-station, there are magic carpets, a snow carousel, and slalom and training courses to help them get started skiing or riding. The ski instructors are very patient and there to help the kids, making sure they have a blast and feel a small sense of accomplishment. Once they\u2019ve all been rounded up, and have enough skills and feel confident, it\u2019s time to head out to the Schanzlin practice area or the Free Nature Park \u2013 a natural halfpipe with chutes and small lips. BIG Ron\u2019s Spiel- und Aufw\u00e4rmstube provides a place to play and warm up at the end of the day in the Schlick 2000 ski resort. Children as young as one are placed in good hands here while their parents are out enjoying perfectly groomed runs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Small is good on the slopes of the Elfer and Serles <\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s more fun to be had by families on the slopes of the Elfer<\/strong> and Serles<\/strong>. A memorable time is guaranteed at the Neustift-Kr\u00f6\u00dfbach practice area, in the children\u2019s ski area with Elfi the skiing owl, and on the long, snow-covered and illuminated toboggan run on the Elfer. And children are also very well cared for in the children\u2019s ski area Kinderland King Serli. With the platter lift, magic carpet and parents\u2019 encouragement, children will soon be on their way from their first skiing experiences to confidently having fun on the hill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Benefit from special family offers<\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In addition to fantastic moments in the snow, the Stubai Valley offers a wide range of family discounts. Children up to the age of ten (up to the age of eight in the Schlick 2000 ski resort) can ride for free when accompanied by a paying parent. Ski rentals are also free for children ten and under on the glacier when their parents rent equipment. With the BIG Family Winter Children discount card<\/strong>, children below the age of 15 who stay with a BIG Family Stubai Club partner receive many deals, such as discounts on children\u2019s ski lessons, swimming pool admission or ice skating. Exciting package deals<\/strong> including accommodation, ski passes and childcare are also available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A wide range of events in the Stubai Valley<\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Stubai Valley has many highlights to offer both on and off the piste.
Whole new experiences await parents and their children aged 12 and up during the BIG Family Action Days<\/strong> at the Stubai Glacier. From Saturday, 18 February to Sunday, 19 February 2023, park and powder pros show you what\u2019s really important when it comes to skiing and snowboarding, demonstrating not only the techniques required for both, but also what to keep in mind in terms of safety and equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mascot of Schlick 2000, BIG Ron, invites you to join him two days later to celebrate carnival<\/strong>. From 3 p.m. on Tuesday, 21 February 2023, sweet carnival doughnuts and drinks will be served at the snow carousel at the Froneben mid-station to get the good times rolling. The day\u2019s bound to be fun and lively with all the children dressed up in costumes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Easter egg hunt in Schlick 2000<\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Easter is just around the bend now that 2023 has kicked off. The Easter Bunny and the team at the Schlick 2000 ski resort have hidden giant Easter eggs that young and old can hunt for on Sunday, 9 April. Aside from a small Easter surprise in the valley, everyone who finds the correct number of hidden Easter eggs has the chance to win five family ski tickets. So hurry on over to the valley station and get your ticket to participate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Travel made easy<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to its close location to the capital of Tyrol, Innsbruck, families can further take advantage of just how easy it is to get to the Stubai Valley, for example, \u2018With the Nightjet to the snow\u2019 offered by the Austrian Federal Railways (\u00d6BB). Arriving at Innsbruck main railway station, you can use the hotel transfer service and be taken straight to your accommodation or travel by bus or tram.
