The Bike Republic S\u00f6lden strengthens its partnership with the Green Hill Bikepark in Germany, with the BYND festival taking turns in the two locations. The unique event merges a wide range of MTB disciplines and joins elite athletes with everyday riders, a party up on the mountain with great contests in the valley. The festival\u2019s highlight is the Swatch Nines MTB-Show, a six-day spectacle with the world\u2019s best slopestyle and freeride stars showcasing their skills on a custom-built track. Plus, the \u201cBike Republic S\u00f6lden Festival BYND The Mountain\u201d is packed with action-packed sports events, hosts an expo in the valley with music highlights and a Mountain Top Party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bike Republic S\u00f6lden likes it unconventional. And since its foundation in 2015, it has fostered a special community mindset: In the Alp\u2019s flowiest nation everyone is welcome, no matter your origin, age, or bike skills \u2013 it is all about coming together and having a good time on and off two wheels. So, no wonder the Bike Republic itself is seeking new \u201cdiplomatic\u201c ties. In 2023, the BRS set up an “exclave” within the Green Hill Bike Park in Germany. Now, the ties get even tighter with the joint staging of the BYND Festivals: On an annual rotation, BYND The Hill will be hosted in Schmallenberg and BYND The Mountain in S\u00f6lden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2 Bike Destinations, 1 Bike Community<\/strong>
BYND The Mountain will debut in the Bike Republic from September 13 to 15, 2024. A star-studded roster of the world’s best slopestyle and freeride pros will kick off the festival during the week with the likes of Sam Pilgrim, Casey Brown, Erik Fedko, and Peter Kaiser letting their skills and creativity run free on the custom-built course. The Swatch Nines format is an antagonist to standard competitions \u2013 it is a prime playground for athletes to push their limits and showcase their talent. During the week, the area is limited to professional photographers and videographers, before opening its gates for the public on Sep 14th. And, of course, the Bike Republic will also present fantastic side events and entertainment, incl. the Signature BRS Whip Off contest, a mountain top party, culinary delights and tons of bike action in the expo area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the BYND festival we want to foster and cultivate the community spirit that is so inherent to the sport. It definitely is a special format that unites so many aspects \u2013 and we cannot wait to host it.\u201c<\/em>

The premiere of BYND The Hill at Schmallenberg’s bike park in 2023 was an enormous success. Now, the festival series will alternate annually between \u00d6tztal and North Rhine-Westphalia. In addition to the main event, the partner region will host a pre-event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
