We have more than enough space to fulfil every winter fantasy: 142 kilometres of pistes and 60 modern lifts in the skiing areas of Ahorn, Penken, Finkenberg, Rastkogel and Eggalm, where beginners, pros and winter enthusiasts will find perfectly groomed slopes in varying degrees of difficulty, as well as numerous alternatives to classic skiing or snowboarding. Penken ski area is easily accessible with the Penkenbahn from Mayrhofen, the Horbergbahn from Schwendau and the M\u00f6slbahn at Hochschwendberg. There is good reason why PenkenPark<\/strong> is considered one of the best snowparks in Europe. In fact, it even took the first place<\/strong> int the \u201cSnowpark\u201d category of the \u201cSchneeh\u00f6hen\u201d ski resort test \u2013 one of the biggest operating service portals for skiers and snowboarders. Its five areas are not only frequented by the who’s who of the international freeskiing and snowboarding scene<\/strong>, but beginners can also practice tricks and stunts on the various kickers against the awesome backdrop of Mountopolis. Speed-hungry skiers can follow in the footsteps of ski stars from all over the world when they emulate the pros on the two permanent giant slalom courses at RacingParadise Unterberg.<\/strong>  And those fancying just a spot of fun can let off steam on the FunRides.<\/strong> The special \u201cParcours\u201d for skiers of every age features specially developed elements from boarder- and ski-cross for unlimited ski fun. You prefer things a little less racy? No problem, because families will find Albert’s Penken Tour <\/strong>on Mount Penken,<\/strong> an easy downhill run for kids with fun obstacles. The WinterHikingPath Penken<\/strong> from the top station of the Kombibahn to Penkenjoch and the WinterHikingPath BergWaldWeg<\/strong> from the mountain station of the Penkenbahn to the mid station of the Finkenberger Almbahnen offers a breathtaking view of the opposing Ahorn and showcases Penken\u2019s very gentle side in impressive fashion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EASY: RELAXING IN THE SNOW AND PLEASURE-CARVING ON MOUNT AHORN. OR PERHAPS YOU PREFER A SPORTY DOWNHILL RUN TO THE VALLEY?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

You will find everything you need for a successful day filled with all that and more in the Ahorn ski area.<\/strong> Where Austria\u2019s largest cable car, the Ahornbahn<\/strong> whisks snow-lovers straight up to the deeply snow-
covered and sunny AhornPlateau with its easy, wide blue and red slopes as well as child-friendly lifts.<\/strong> Perfect for all beginners, those returning to the sport and those who prefer to take things a little more leisurely. Exciting tranquillity for elegant carving awaits at Mount Ahorn, as well as winter delights with fabulous views, where you can replenish flagging energy levels on the sun terraces beneath snow-covered peaks. You can also chill out at the WhiteLounge SnowBar,<\/strong> where comfortable deck chairs, delicious drinks and lounge music invite you to relax and daydream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But do beware: Mountopolis is also known for its challenging ValleyRun Ahorn!<\/strong> Encompassing a length of 5.5 km and over 1,300 meters in elevation difference, this black slope takes you all the way back down to the valley. You\u2019re planning to work on your fitness levels? With pleasure! The Ahornbahn and the ValleyRun Ahorn open before all other lifts and slopes at 7.30 a.m.,<\/strong> so early birds can indulge in morning sports on Mount Ahorn.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

AlbertAdler AdventureTrail<\/strong>! It leads across the AhornPlateau past the ViewingPlatform Zillertal<\/strong> towards the new location of the Eagle\u2019s StageAhorn<\/strong> at the FalknerOase<\/strong> in the middle of the Filzen reservoir and back to the Ahornbahn mountain station. This promising WinterHikingPath on Mount Ahorn offers spectacular views including three highlights with wow factor at the end of the tour: hike the newly created FalkenSteig trail<\/strong>, marvel at the fantastic panorama on the free-floating, over 60-metre-long GreifenBr\u00fccke bridge<\/strong> and climb the ViewingPlatform AdlerAuge<\/strong>! But don’t miss out on a stop at the Eagle\u2019s Stage Ahorn<\/strong> right next to the FalknerOase<\/strong> – here you can marvel at the birds of prey of the Eagle\u2019s Stage Ahorn at their residence and, with a bit of luck, even get a snapshot with the majestic animals at the Eagle\u2019s Stage \u201cMeet & Greet\u201d<\/strong> (weather-related changes possible, closed on Saturday). By the way, the Eagle\u2019s Stage Ahorn<\/strong> can not only be “hiked” by pedestrians, it can also be reached by skiers.  Those out and about on Mount Ahorn with winter hiking boots or in need of a fun break from skiing, will find the ideal diversion in Mountopolis with PistenBock tobogganing fun<\/strong> on a specially designed course. Even more fun is guaranteed at the AlbertAdler PlayWorld<\/strong> by Ravensburger<\/strong> next to the mountain station of the Ahornbahn. An exciting and varied indoor game world was created in a collaborative venture with Ravensburger on an area covering around 140 m\u00b2. Equipped with a climbing wall, playhouse, listening stations, giant puzzles and many more. Guided cable car tours<\/strong> on the Ahornbahn, on the other hand, are exciting and technical and where technology buffs really get their money\u2019s worth. Here, visitors are given a glimpse behind the scenes of Austria’s largest cable car and exciting facts such as the conveyance capacity, volume of concrete and number of columns required for its construction are revealed (every Sunday at 10.30 a.m., German only). Mayrhofner Bergbahnen Facts<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Mayrhofner Bergbahnen comprises of the Ahornbahn, Penkenbahn, Horbergbahn and M\u00f6slbahn and have been awarded the \u201c5-star ski resort\u201d<\/strong> seal of approval for the fourth time in a row by skiresort.de<\/strong>, the world’s largest test portal for ski resorts. The Ahornbahn <\/strong>is Austria\u2019s largest cable car and transports visitors to 2.000 metres above sea level in less than 7 minutes. Equipped with gigantic panoramic glass fronts, it offers unique views of Mayrhofen and the surrounding mountains. The ultra-modern 3S Penkenbahn<\/strong>, also equipped with panoramic windows and additional WLAN in its 33 gondolas, whisks you directly from the town centre to an altitude of almost 1.800 metres in just 8.2 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
