The Stubai Ultratrail 2025 \u2013 powered by SCOTT set new standards on the weekend of June 27 and 28 under the motto “Epic Trails. Epic Valley.” With 1,500 runners from all over the world, the high alpine trail running event saw a record turnout. There was a festival atmosphere over five different distances, all of which started and finished in the lively town center of Neustift for the first time. On the supreme discipline, the 78-kilometre Stubai High Trail, local hero Christian Stern celebrated impressive victories in the men’s race, while Marie-Luise M\u00fchlhuber from Germany won the women’s race. They provided the emotional highlights of the 8th Stubai Ultratrail.<\/p>\n\n\n

Home victory for Christian Stern on the Stubai High Trail<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The most prestigious route, the 78-kilometre-long and technically extremely demanding Stubai High Trail, was the scene of an emotional triumph: local hero Christian Stern beat Patrick Ramoser from Italy (12:35:06 h) and Tomas Kubicik from the Czech Republic (12:42:46 h) in 12:34:19 hours and celebrated a home victory that held special meaning for him. “This is my best victory to date – and I will celebrate it like never before! It is simply unbelievable to be at the top at home in my beloved Stubai Valley and on this famous, beautiful loop on the Stubai High Trail,” said an overjoyed Christian Stern at the finish.<\/p>\n\n\n

Marie-Luise M\u00fchlhuber won the women’s race on the Stubai High Trail in 16:07:55 hours, with Noor van der Veen from the Netherlands in second and Claudia Rosegger from Austria in third. “I know the landscape of the Stubaital from training and also the high trail, but I’ve never run it all the way through before. I’m very happy to have done it today and to have made it,” said the beaming winner Marie-Luise M\u00fchlhuber at the finish line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Four more spectacular races with impressive results<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the Stubai High Trail, three other competitions were held on this day: the Stubai Ultra (59 km\/4,280 m), the Stubai Classic (31 km\/2,325 m) and the Stubai Express (24 km\/1,305 m). Sophia Reu\u00df (GER), Carina Helmreich (GER) and SCOTT athlete Jana Klaiber (GER) won the women’s Stubai Ultra. Gerhard Kaufmann (AUT), Vincent Fletcher (NZL) and Jelle Matheus (BEL) took the top three places in the men’s event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The day before, three women from Germany won the Stubai Sunnenseit’n Trail (16 km\/750 m): Svenja Ojstersek, Alexandra Vorobeva and Annika J\u00e4ger. Samuel Demetz (ITA) won the men’s race ahead of Jens van Vliet (NED) and Florian Tanzer (AUT). The new routes impressed with spectacular panoramic trails, technically demanding passages and the impressive backdrop of the Stubai Alps.<\/p>\n\n\n

Ideal conditions and perfect organization<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The conditions could hardly have been better for the participants and the organization team: a dry night with rising temperatures and sunshine during the day. The excellent organization was praised by athletes and spectators alike and contributed significantly to the success of the event. There was an exuberant atmosphere along the course and in the finish area \u2013 the Stubai Valley presented itself as a true trail running mecca.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adrian Siller, head of tourism in the Stubai Valley, was also delighted with the development of the event: “It was the right decision to further develop the Stubai Ultratrail – with new, spectacular routes and the start and finish area in the center of Neustift. The feedback from the runners and the atmosphere in the valley confirm that we are on the right track. The Stubai Valley is and remains a magnet for trail runners from all over the world.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
