The Kaisergebirge, known locally as the \u201cKoasa,\u201d is sacred to the people of Ebbs. And rightly so, because the mountains in Tyrol on the border with Bavaria are a protected nature reserve. For this reason, there is a limit of 1,200 registrations for participants. On Saturday, June 13, 2026, the Ebbser Koasamarsch will take place for the 56th time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

International and cult \u2013 The hiking and trail running event in Kufsteinerland in Tyrol is considered one of the oldest hiking and mountain running events in Austria. Accordingly, the organizing team around WSV Ebbs (Alpine section) still has a wealth of experience. In 2025, the Koasamarsch celebrated its 55th anniversary, in honor of which the anniversary route \u201cKOASA-55-Panorama-Trail\u201d with 55 km and almost 4,000 meters of elevation gain was initiated. The spectacular scenic route set new records. At last year’s completely sold-out Koasamarsch, Germany’s Kimi Schreiber won impressively with a time of 7:42:42. This made her the fastest of all on the anniversary route. Among the fastest men, Austria’s Daniel Hauser finished behind Schreiber with a time of 7:49:42.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trails for winners and enjoyers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whether you have your sights set on victory, are looking for the ultimate adrenaline rush, want to enjoy the camaraderie of hiking in a group while taking in the imperial landscape, or simply want to be part of the action\u2014the Ebbser Koasamarsch has something for everyone. There are three trail running competitions to choose from \u2013 from the KOASA-55-Panorama-Trail with 55 km and 3,900 meters of elevation gain to the KOASA-Classic-Run (33 km\/1,910 m) and the challenging KOASA-H\u00f6llenritt (20 km\/1,000 m). Those who prefer to go at their own pace can choose the classic hiking routes of 33 km or 20 km \u2013 both with the same key data as the running competitions. For nature lovers and families, there are also two valley hikes: the \u201c12er\u201d with 12 km and hardly any elevation gain, and the \u201c5er\u201d with 4.2 km as a short loop. This means that everyone can find the distance that suits their personal Koasa experience. Due to the positive feedback \u2013 especially regarding the scenic beauty \u2013 the organizers have decided to repeat the anniversary route. It will now become a permanent fixture of the Ebbser Koasamarsch, replacing the marathon route. Fantastic trails await, and with 3,900 meters of elevation gain, it will also be a great challenge for all trail running enthusiasts. The route will be optimized with adjustments to the refreshment stations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
