Over 1,600 kilometers of hiking trails, around 850 kilometers of mountain bike routes and top modern summer mountain lifts promise extraordinary nature exploration for mountain enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels. Whether it’s outdoor adventures in Lower \u00d6tztal, relaxation at AQUA DOME – Tirol Therme L\u00e4ngenfeld spa center, a visit to the spectacular 007 ELEMENTS James Bond Adventure World high above S\u00f6lden or conquering your first 3,000 meter high peak in Vent: scenic \u00d6tztal valley uniquely combines action, relaxation and inspiration. New to the summer program is Austria’s first floating Ninja Park in Hochoetz at over 2,000 meters. And “\u00d6tzi”, the famous glacier mummy, will also be attracting attention in 2026. September marks the 35th<\/sup> anniversary of his discovery.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The unrivaled \u00d6tztal Summer Card remains a key component of the overall holiday experience. New highlight: Ninja Action on cool water<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Climbing, balancing, jumping and, if necessary, landing more or less gracefully in the mountain lake: Austria’s first floating climbing park, Ninja Park Hochoetz, brings the thrill of popular TV ninja shows straight to Tirol’s mountains. At an altitude of over 2,000 meters, directly on the water reservoir in Hochoetz, 28 modular elements are installed above the water. Three difficulty levels promise perfect challenges for children, teenagers and adults, for ninja novices but also ambitious climbing fans. From interactive to inclusive: Adventures on the mountain and in the valley<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to classic outdoor activities, \u00d6tztal valley is increasingly focusing on interactive nature exploration. On the Discovery Trails, visitors can explore the region’s stories and unique features. At several stations along the trails, facts and figures are brought to life digitally with the help of audio formats, videos and small puzzles. The latest addition in the lower part of the valley is the “Legends of Oetz” discovery trail, while in the uppermost valley , the fifth route will open this summer – “Forest Bathing and Meditation Trail” in Gurgl. \u00d6tztal Discovery Trails<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, scenic spots are being made even more accessible. The most recent example is the comprehensive renovation of the popular Weller Bridge near Oetz, including its access points. The result is a continuously accessible hiking trail from the central car park in Oetz, including a barrier-free viewpoint directly on the bridge overlooking \u00d6tztaler Ache mountain river.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cycling options are also expanding: some 30 new kilometers of mountain bike routes are added to the network, featuring both leisurely alpine trails and more challenging bike routes. Bike Republic S\u00f6lden kicks off the season on 04 June. Two new lines, a pump track at Gaislachkogl gondola middle station plus convenient bike hubs for carefree bike & hike adventures appeal to an even wider range of sports enthusiasts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

High alpine adventure in Vent: 3,000 meter peaks, stars and culinary enjoyment<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anyone dreaming of climbing a three thousand meter high summit by using own muscle power will find ideal conditions in Vent. The five-day mountain tour “My first real 3,000m high peak” to the summit of Similaun (3,606 m) includes guides, equipment rental and overnight stays, as well as an acclimatization tour. In late summer, the mountaineering village of Vent showcases its extensive alpine expertise with a variety of outstanding events. Highlights include the Dark Night (01 Sep), the Stargazing Hike (04 Sep), the Sunrise Tour to Wildes Mannle (08 Sep) and the Alpine Talk with mountaineering expert Dani Arnold (14 Sep).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The alpine village also delights with culinary treats. On occasion of the “Culinary Hopping” tour, participants stroll from one inn to the next, sampling a dish of regional specialties at each one. The guided culinary tour with its multi-course menu takes place on three dates: 30 Jun, 28 Jul, 25 Aug.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reach for the sky and breathe deeply in Gurgl<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gurgl, the Diamond of the Alps in Upper \u00d6tztal, welcomes guests at over 2,000 meters with pollen-free mountain air and premium offers that leave nothing to be desired. Culinary flights of fancy such as a mountain breakfast on Hohe Mut Alm and breakfast served in the Gourmet Gondola complement the toque-awarded and Michelin-starred offers of the local gourmet scene. While the Top Mountain Motorcycle Experience displays high-octane insights, Gurgl Carat Event Center will again become a stage for artistic creation. 35 years after the sensational discovery of the glacier mummy on Tisenjoch saddleback, \u00d6tztal is honoring its most famous local with a variety of anniversary activities and celebrations. \u00d6tzi Village in Umhausen invites visitors to a festival with a fabulous side program on 19 Sep<\/strong>. Stone Age fans can, among other things, marvel at the new 1:1 replica of the discovery site in the information hall, meet eyewitnesses to the find and immerse themselves in the fascinating prehistory and early history of the Alps with lifelike actors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adventures with mascot WIDI<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From 25 May to 16 Oct 2026, stunning \u00d6tztal welcomes WIDI the mountain sheep and his young guests. The popular children’s activity program from Monday to Friday boasts a variety of adventures and activities for kids between three and ten years old. Be it creative workshops, exciting nature exploration days or encounters with animal, the focus is on physical activity, discovery and shared experiences. Children aged four and older can even participate independently if they wish. Families are also invited to enjoy many activities together while creating precious holiday memories. Participation is free of charge for all children staying at a WIDI partner accommodation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A summer brimming with events<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d6tztal’s 2026 event calendar is as varied and entertaining as ever. Sporting highlights include the Stuiben Trail Run<\/strong> (14\u201317 May), the high alpine Glacier Trail Run<\/strong> in Gurgl (16\u201319 Jul) and the WIDI Trail Run<\/strong> (20 Sep) for the youngest athletes. The legendary Raft Battle<\/strong> fun rafting event (02 May) marks the start of the outdoor season. The biking community will also find plenty to enjoy, such as the Bike Republic S\u00f6lden Festival<\/strong>, 18\u201321 Jun, and the 45th<\/sup> edition of the legendary \u00d6tztaler Cycle Marathon<\/strong> on 30 Aug.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the surroundings of Hochoetz, events like WIDIVERSUM Family Festival<\/strong> (12 Jul) and Alpine Pasture & Mountain Festival<\/strong> featuring “\u00d6tztaler Alpentornados” music band (23 Aug) promise enjoyable summer moments. The Sunset on the Mountain<\/strong> evenings (31 Jul & 14 Aug) are particularly atmospheric, as guests enjoy music, fine drinks and regional cooking at an altitude of over 2,000 meters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The AREA 47<\/strong> event program is as well action-packed. The season kicks off with the Wake Opening<\/strong> (14-16 May) in mid-May. Throughout the summer season, spectacular highlights will follow, including Blob the Boss<\/strong> (12 Jun), Stiegl Extreme Blobbing<\/strong> (04 Jul), EOFT<\/strong> (17 Jul) as well as Cliffdiving Tour<\/strong> (18 Jul) and Freestyle Highdiving Competition<\/strong> (29 Aug). The season traditionally concludes with The Last Run<\/strong> on 10 Oct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Traveling in a relaxed and sustainable manner<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
