When the temperatures rise and it gets summery warm in the valley, the Stubai Valley offers a welcome alternative: clear mountain air, cool natural sites and impressive views at all altitudes. Between glacier, mountain and valley, a varied summer programme that combines exercise, relaxation and nature experiences unfolds. New in summer 2026, the Elfercoaster \u2013 a year-round rail toboggan run with roller coaster character \u2013 provides additional action and expands the offer of the Elferbahnen in Neustift.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Stubai Valley is a real natural paradise in summer – only about 20 minutes from Innsbruck, it offers cool mountain air, clear lakes and impressive views at all altitudes. In four hiking areas, comfortable lifts take visitors from the valley floor to high alpine regions at over 3,000 metres and open access to themed trails, playgrounds and special natural sites. Cycling enthusiasts also get their money’s worth: The Stubai Cycle Route 19 is continuously passable and connects the valley with varied stages as far as Innsbruck or Italy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Far-reaching views and altitude on the Stubai Glacier<\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

On the Stubai Glacier, summer shows itself in a special diversity. At over 3,210 metres, the summit platform “TOP OF TYROL”<\/strong> inspires with an impressive panorama, while the Schaufeljoch chapel<\/strong> offers space for quiet moments. At the same time, the area combines nature experience and activity: hikes on the glacier path, guided insights into the glacier world as well as sporting opportunities such as via ferrates and alpine tours guarantee variety in high alpine surroundings. In the Fernau climbing park,<\/strong> both beginners and advanced climbers will find suitable routes and training opportunities. Families enjoy playful adventures in the middle of the mountains at the high-altitude playground with the six-meter-tall wooden mammoth and the giant wooden snow groomer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Active summer in the Schlick 2000<\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Schlick 2000 hiking centre in Fulpmes stands for varied themed trails and family-friendly leisure activities in the Kalkk\u00f6gel-mountains. Panorama trails such as the path to the \u2018StubaiBlick<\/strong>\u2019 viewing platform and the \u2018Sunnenseit’n Weg<\/strong>\u2019 with its suspension bridge combine impressive views with special scenic nature sites, like the \u2018Gletscherblick\u2019 or \u2018Gschmitz\u2019. The offer is complemented by the Lake Trail, which combines quiet moments of nature with water and far-reaching views. For families, the slide trail, disc trail, tree house path and nature trail provide exciting adventures in nature. Sports enthusiasts will find additional challenges in the Alpine Adventure Park<\/strong> with practice via ferrata as well as on the \u2018Ochsenwand<\/strong>\u2019 via ferrata<\/strong> and on tours to the \u2018Hohe Burgstall<\/strong>\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Movement and discoveries on Mount Elfer<\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Elfer in Neustift combines activity, nature experiences and impressive views. With the Elfercoaster,<\/strong> a modern rail toboggan run will expand the offer from summer 2026 on and provide additional action with roller coaster character. As one of the best-known take-off sites in the paragliding scene, Mount Elfer offers ideal thermal conditions and impressive panoramas for pleasure- and sport-pilots. Hikers and sports enthusiasts will also find a wide range of activities with the \u2018Geh-Zeiten\u2019 trails, tours into the \u2018Pinnis\u2019 Valley as well as several via ferrates and two challenging bike trails. Places worth seeing such as the scenic nature site \u2018Gratzengr\u00fcbl<\/strong>\u2019 or the split stone in the \u2018Pinnis\u2019 Valley set special accents along the routes. The largest walk-on sundial in the Alpine region serves as an impressive vantage point of the Stubai Valley and as a striking eye-catcher during the regularly offered evening rides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Family offers and lots of nature at the Serlesbahnen<\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Serlesbahnen in the village of Mieders offer nature-based offers for the whole family. Around the Serlespark with its lakes and play areas, there are a variety of opportunities to relax and discover, complemented by the summer toboggan run <\/strong>for additional action. King Serli’s Nature Discovery Trail becomes a circular hiking trail and combines playful elements with exercise in nature. In addition, a barrier-free circular hiking trail around the lakes as well as vantage points such as \u2018Koppeneck\u2019, \u2018Serlesblick\u2019 and \u2018Karwendelblick\u2019 invite you to linger. The \u2018Serleskirchl\u2019 \u2013 a small church \u2013 and the Serles-train to the monastery \u2018Maria Waldrast\u2019 also make the area a destination for different demands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The offers and infrastructure in the valley are also constantly evolving. For example, the new Stubai Cycle Route 19 is now continuously passable. In the area of \u2018Klaus \u00c4uele\u2019, the new Kids Bike Park<\/strong> expands the possibilities for cycling enthusiasts with children. At the same time, the valley convinces with an extraordinary diversity: from the valley floor to the high alpine glacier world, hikers, bikers and trail runners will find ideal conditions at all altitudes. As a particularly family-friendly destination, the Stubai Valley offers children’s programmes and benefits for everyone – supported by the Stubai Super Card<\/strong>. It allows free rides on all four mountain railways and public transport in the valley and includes numerous other services such as admission to swimming pools and the use of the summer toboggan run in Mieders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An environmentally friendly journey to the Stubai Valley begins comfortably with the day trains of the Deutsche Bahn and \u00d6BB or the Nightjet combination ticket. Guests can use it to travel relaxed from Hamburg, Amsterdam or Vienna to Innsbruck. From there, the new 15-minute interval<\/strong> of public transport ensures a fast and reliable onward journey to the Stubai Valley. For the first and last journey between Innsbruck and the valley, guests can also use a free arrival and departure voucher. Within the Stubai Valley, the digital guest card<\/strong> as a public transport ticket facilitates sustainable mobility and enables uncomplicated movement during the entire stay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
