Around 1,000 runners from 26 countries turned the village of Umhausen into a hub of the international trail running scene. Despite very challenging weather conditions, the Stuiben Trail Run proved to be a top-class sporting event. Edith Zell from L\u00e4ngenfeld in \u00d6tztal and Sven Koch from Germany won the main event’s supreme discipline on a modified 36-kilometer course covering 1,900 altitude meters. In addition to the athletic extreme performances, the cooperation with Northland China also garnered attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both the full starting lists and the high quality of the participants’ field proved the excellent reputation of this event. “Interest was enormous this year. The fact that the 24K and 12K distances sold out so quickly and that we had to increase the number of participants shows how popular the event has become,” emphasizes Martin Scheiber, head of the Stuiben Trail Run OC Committee. This year’s event proved to be a true challenge for participants and organizers alike. Due to a cold weather front and for safety reasons, it was necessary to adapt the course routes and move parts of the side program indoors. Thanks to the experienced organizing team, however, the 2026 Stuiben Trail Run could defy the inclement weather conditions and was also completed without any incidents. For the participants, the trail running event offered a unique \u00d6tztal experience as they mastered all four seasons on one race day, from wintry snow flurries to bright sunshine.

Winners get all-inclusive package to China<\/strong>
Especially in the supreme discipline, 42K Stuiben Trail, the number of top athletes was higher than ever before. With top favorites like Sven Koch, Jack Chamberlain, Thijs de Lange and Markus Lindl, an exciting battle for the podium was guaranteed. In the end, Sven Koch prevailed in the men’s race with a time of 3:20:02. Edith Zell from L\u00e4ngenfeld triumphed in the women’s race already for the second time, finishing in 4:18:31. In addition to the prize money, a special highlight awaited the two fastest runners in the 42K distance this year: thanks to the cooperation between \u00d6tztal Tourismus and Northland China, they also won an exclusive package for the “Northland Yangshuo 100” held in China in November 2027 – including flights, accommodation and participation in the race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
