E-Bike World Championship for Everyone in Ischgl

Last updated on 11.02.2020

On 15 August 2020, e-biking world champions will be crowned at the world’s biggest e-biking race in Ischgl. The E-Bike World Championship for Everyone is open to all participants aged 10 and over. Two different routes are offered – the ‘Everyone’ and ‘Elite’ categories. E-bikes are available for hire on-site. Registration is already open.

Whether young or old – anyone can become an e-biking world champion here: on 14 and 15 August 2020, the E-Bike World Championship will be held in Ischgl for the first time. The world’s biggest e-biking race features two ratings categories on different routes – ‘Elite’ and ‘Everyone’. The rules are simple: “While the fastest biker in the ‘Elite’ category is crowned world champion, participants in the ‘Everyone’ category compete against one of three set time limits (Gold, Silver and Bronze). E-bikers who finish inside one of the three time limits receive the official Everyone world champion medal in gold, silver or bronze,” says Dr. Markus Mitterdorfer (E-Bike Federation). Those finishing inside the gold limit are crowned world champions. In addition to being awarded the ‘Everyone’ medal or placement in the overall ‘Elite’ classification, the best in each age bracket are also recognised (for each sex and ratings category). The 24 km ‘Everyone’ ratings category leads over 693m of wide paths with dreamy panoramic views and an impressive mountain backdrop. Participants in the ‘Elite’ category take on a long and technically challenging 32 km trail with steep ascents and spectacular single trails covering 1,089m of altitude gain. In the case of e-bikes: permitted to race – all standard e-mountain bikes (Pedelecs) with assisted pedalling of max. 25 km/h, motorisation of max. 250 watt and battery power of max. 750 watt. All participants must undergo a bike check on the day of the race. E-bikes can be hired on-site. Ischgl visitors, spectators and riders can also enjoy a diversified supporting programme.

Registration is now open. For all information on the programme, routes, prices and registration, see: www.ebikewm.com or www.ischgl.com.
