Last updated on 08.03.2022

The Freeride World Tour will make its 13th stop in Fieberbrunn from 15 to 20 March and will be a festival for all freeride enthusiasts in 2022: with freeride talk, various safety workshops, a look behind the scenes, spectacular shows and much more.

Start auf 2119 Metern, das Ziel bei den Wildalmen. Die Freeride World Tour macht zum 13. Mal Station in Fieberbrunn

Fieberbrunn is part of the Freeride World Tour (FWT) finals for the first time this year. After an early cut was already made after the three previous international competitions, the World Cup titles are now up for grabs in the PillerseeTal and finally in Verbier, Switzerland, with additional points and two runs per contest day. From an Austrian perspective, Viennese snowboarder and former world champion Manuela Mandl qualified for the final events in third place. So while the world’s best freeriders get down to the nitty-gritty on 15 March, the scheduled contest day, visitors to the Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn Ski Circus can enjoy a varied week all about freeride sports.

Freeride Talk at the official Rider Hotel

To kick off the Freeride Week, host Stefan Steinacher will be holding a talk on Monday evening, 14 March, with top-class guests from the sports scene, including Olympic champion Viktoria Rebensburg. The Freeride Talk TIROL will take place at 8 pm at the TUI Blue, the official rider hotel of the Freeride World Tour, and will also be broadcast live on the internet. The following day, of course, the Wildseeloder will be the focus of interest. Freeride fans will also be allowed again this year – they will be especially close to the riders in the new finish area at the Wildalmen.

Red Bull Skydive Team with spectacular after-contest show

After the competition, two real professionals of the air will offer a spectacular show: Marco Waltenspiel and Marco Fürst, from the Red Bull Skydive Team, are guaranteed to amaze with their spectacular wingsuit performance. Afterwards, it’s “Aperol o`clock” at the TUI Blue – the official rider hotel also serves as the event area and is open to all visitors. The official programme points of the tour, such as the opening ceremony (Monday, 4 p.m.) or the official award ceremony (Tuesday, 4 p.m.) will also take place there.

First Line with World Tour Rider

On Wednesday of the festival week, the popular First Line Fieberbrunn is on the agenda again, this time accompanied by a pro of the Freeride World Tour. In addition, there are daily safety workshops, a ski tour with Nadine Wallner or a “Girls Only” freeride day with the former freeride world champion. All these packages can be booked individually for Freeride Week guests at an extra charge. Info at www.freeride-festival-fieberbrunn.com.

Freeride Junior Tour the following weekend

The junior riders are also back in Fieberbrunn: in addition to the FWT, the Freeride Junior Tour will also make a stop in Fieberbrunn for a 3* event on 19 and 20 March 2022 – this competition will also be broadcast live on the internet.
