There’s no doubt that the 6th edition of Mayrhofen Ultraks Zillertal will live up to its hallowed reputation of, “no mercy for the muscles”. Following trails and winding serpentines that hikers usually surmount at a leisurely pace, an entirely different tempo will preside over the weekend of 6th/7th September. Exceptional performances and spectacular scenes are guaranteed.

«MOUNTOPOLIS VERTICAL» Premiere
«MOUNTOPOLIS VERTICAL» is a brand-new addition to the Mayrhofen Ultraks Zillertal portfolio and an absolute must for all mountain running enthusiasts! The route encompasses some 8.5 km and 1,250 metres in elevation difference, taking its contenders from the centre of Mayrhofen to the top terminal of the Penkenbahn cable car. At the finish line, runners can look forward to a great atmosphere in the new «Ultraks Fan Zone powered by Mountopolis» with DJ sounds, a presenter and well-deserved refreshments for the finishers.

The popular «SPAREFROH-MINI-ULTRAKS» will be held again on Friday this year for younger participants, where children have the opportunity to let off steam on an exciting route in the town centre and demonstrate their sporting prowess.

This is immediately followed at 18.00 hrs by the spectacularly gruelling «Z101» overnight race from Friday to Saturday. Encompassing a distance of 107 km and 8,500 metres in elevation difference, this will push even the most experienced trail runners to their limits and perhaps beyond.

Unlike other Mayrhofen Ultraks Zillertal routes, «TUX070» does not start in Mayrhofen, but at the Zillertaler Gletscherbahn car park in Hintertux. A headlamp is required to master the first few kilometres uphill to the Frauenwand, after which participants are rewarded with fabulous views and a unique sunrise.

Numerous elite athletes from Germany and Switzerland will join the start line once again this year, ensuring a fast and exciting race.
