Designed for hikers, cyclists, climbing enthusiasts, families and culture lovers alike, these additions further enhance the region’s outdoor adventures. Whether high in the mountains or right in the heart of the city, Tirol continues to prove itself as a diverse adventure destination for all ages and abilities.

Hiking
New “Kaiserblüte” star-shaped hiking tour · Wilder Kaiser
The new Kaiserblüte star-shaped hiking tour in the Wilder Kaiser region comprises six stages totalling 76 kilometres with 5,050 metres of ascent. The routes are suitable for hikers with some mountain experience and a good level of fitness, following easy-to-moderately chal-lenging paths through the mountains and valleys. Overnight stays are in comfortable valley hotels, so there is no need to carry luggage. Free mobility services, such as hiking buses and the Kaiserjet, are also available.
New digital storytelling trails · Fügen-Kaltenbach Holiday Region
New interactive hiking trails in the Hochzillertal and Hochfügen areas offer engaging nature experiences with eight to ten stations each. The “Four Alpine Pastures March” features a three- to four-hour story centred around the traditional “Almabtrieb” cattle drive from mountain pastures, while the “Hubertus Wildlife Trail” along the Zillertal High Alpine Road provides fascinating insights into the region’s wildlife in about one and a half to two hours. Both experiences are available in versions suitable for children and adults.
SkyRide Ahorn: open-air gondola at 2,000 metres · Mayrhofen-Hippach
The SkyRide Ahorn, Austria’s largest cable car, now brings an alpine outdoor atmosphere straight to the mountain in Mayrhofen. The stunning gondola lift not only provides easy ac-cess to panoramic viewpoints but also transforms the mountain journey into an exciting experience with unobstructed views over the Zillertal Valley.
Katzenkopf Circular Hike · Seefeld Region – Tirol’s High Plateau
A new easy circular hiking trail in the Seefeld region covers 8.5 kilometres and 285 metres of elevation gain, starting from the centre of Leutasch and looping around the Katzenkopf mountain. The route follows the track of the new high-altitude cross-country trail, which also functions as a forest road and now forms part of the circular route. A stop at the Katzenkopf Hut offers a welcome opportunity to rest and refuel along the way.

Cycling
Stubai Cycle Route 19: family-friendly pleasure route · Stubai
A new highlight for cyclists is Stubai Cycle Route 19, stretching around 40 kilometres from Schönberg to Falbeson along the valley floor of the Stubai Valley. The route offers a gentle, family-friendly ride with no major climbs. Numerous stops along the way – including the Kids Park Klaus Äuele, climbing walls, and flying fox stations – add variety, while traditional inns invite riders to take a break. With the addition of the 19a feeder route, the cycling net-work will also create a continuous connection all the way to the provincial capital of Inns-bruck.
New cycling and hiking connection in Langkampfen · Kufsteinerland
From summer 2026, a 4.6-kilometre section across the Drei-Brunnen-Joch will extend the existing network of cycling and walking trails in the Kufsteinerland region. For the first time, it will create a continuous link between the Tirolean lowlands and the Bavarian network of paths and open new cross-border routes from Schliersee and Tegernsee to Achensee. Pendling mountain, with its spectacular views, will also be directly accessible via the new route.

Mountain Biking
Kirchberg Trail: Tirol’s longest flow trail · Kitzbüheler Alpen – Brixental
With the opening of the new Kirchberg Trail on 6 June 2026, Kirchberg in the Kitzbühel Alps will expand its mountain biking opportunities with a major new project. Around ten kilome-tres of newly constructed trail sections, combined with existing connections, create a seam-less top-to-bottom flow trail – the longest in Tirol. The easy to moderately challenging route has been designed according to clear, environmentally responsible trail-building standards and is complemented by wooden boardwalks, rest areas, and scenic viewpoints.
New biking experiences in Paznaun · Paznaun-Ischgl
With new trails and tours, Paznaun-Ischgl is consolidating its position as a versatile biking destination. In Ischgl, the blue Höllkar Trail adds six kilometres of downhill riding fun, descending 1,189 metres from the Flimjoch lift to the Silvrettabahn. A more demanding option is the new high-alpine SUR TUOT / DAVO DIEU connection between Ischgl and Scuol (28 kilometres, black difficulty), which crosses four mountain passes. In Galtür, the beginner-friendly Kli Zeinis Trail and the technically more challenging Birkhahn Trail expand the net-work of routes. In addition, new Bike & Hike routes to Bürkelkopf, Berglisee and Madleinsee, along with attractive e-MTB tours in Kappl, offer further varied experiences combining pan-oramic scenery, enjoyable riding and sporting challenges.
New mountain bike route to Karlalm · Mayrhofen-Hippach
A new section of MTB Tour 458 Labergalm will soon expand the regional cycling network in Mayrhofen, offering a challenging new route for mountain bikers. The environmentally conscious route, graded as black difficulty, links Ramsau via Hippach to Karlalm in the Zillertal over approximately ten kilometres and 1,156 metres of elevation gain.
Pumptrack and Ninja Park Grän · Tannheimer Valley
Starting from summer 2026, the Funpark Grän in the Tannheimer Valley will feature both a pumptrack and a Ninja Park. The pumptrack offers routes suitable for all abilities – from simple sections for balance bikes to more demanding courses for skilled riders. Right next door, the new Ninja Park provides a variety of play and fitness challenges designed to improve coordination, strength, endurance, and agility. Both attractions are situated directly alongside the cycle path and are freely accessible.
New Mutzkopf Trail · Tiroler Oberland – Nauders
A new blue mountain bike trail, the “Moods Trail,” is currently being developed on the Mutzkopf in Tiroler Oberland. The 3.7-kilometre route runs from the mountain station down to the valley and is designed for less-experienced riders. The trail will expand the regional biking offer and provide a family-friendly downhill experience.
Bike Park Zugspitze · Tiroler Zugspitz Arena
Starting in summer 2026, the Bike Park Zugspitze at the foot of the Wetterstein Mountains in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena will open with three new trail lines designed to provide riding enjoyment for riders of all ages. Featuring a flowing trail and a fast-paced high-speed route, the park caters to riders of varying abilities. A notable highlight for experienced bikers is the “Bare Knuckle” black trail, built entirely by hand.

Climbing
Ninja Park Hochoetz: Austria’s first water climbing park · Ötztal
In summer 2026, the Ninja Park Hochoetz in the Ötztal Valley will open as Austria’s first facility of its kind. The floating structure consists of modular climbing elements arranged like a low-ropes course above the water. Various difficulty levels provide action and fun for children aged six and over, teenagers, and adults alike – anyone who struggles with an obstacle will land safely in the lake. Combined tickets are available that include both the cable car ride and entry to the Ninja Park.
Pfaffenbichl via ferrata · Fügen-Kaltenbach Holiday Region
The new Pfaffenbichl via ferrata adds another mountain adventure in Hochfügen, Zillertal. Starting directly at the mountain station of the Waidoffen lift (2,431 metres), the route stretches 260 metres with 115 metres of elevation gain and reaches a maximum difficulty of grade B. The via ferrata can be climbed year-round, and equipment can be hired locally. The easy descent is made via a hiking trail.
New “Sky Bridge” on the Zimmereben via ferrata · Mayrhofen-Hippach
A 48-metre-long suspended rope bridge now adds an extra thrill to the Zimmereben via ferrata in Mayrhofen. The new “Sky Bridge” offers spectacular views across the Zillertal and is the first of its kind to lead directly into the garden terrace of the Zimmereben mountain restaurant.
New Routes at the Magerhart Climbing Garden · Pitztal
A new climbing garden in Magerhart, Pitztal, will open its first routes in spring 2026. Over the course of the summer, the range of routes on offer will be gradually expanded, with the aim of reaching full capacity with around 50 routes in the same year. The climbing routes range from easy to challenging, offering both beginners and advanced climbers an exciting new climbing alternative.

Family
Wusel Lake Trail redesigned · Lake Achensee
The popular Wusel Lake Trail at Lake Achensee is undergoing a comprehensive upgrade and will be fully modernised by summer 2026. Along the 3.8-kilometre route between Maurach and Achenkirch, eight activity stations are being renewed and reimagined – accompanied by a fresh new look for the mascot, Wusel the Water Spirit. A new signage system and engaging background information on nature, water and regional topics will provide additional bonus features.
BEWEG DICH SCHLAU! Course by Felix Neureuther · Mayrhofen-Hippach
In Mayrhofen, the new BEWEG DICH SCHLAU! course has been added to the Mountopolis fun sports station on the Penken mountain. Developed according to the concept of former professional skier Felix Neureuther, the course features five training modules by Ravensburger that playfully encourage children’s physical and mental development while inspiring motivation and a joy of movement.
Outdoor Heroes and new Witches Learning Trail · Outdoorregion Imst
The Outdoorregion Imst will soon bring together its engaging nature education activities under the new programme “Outdoor Heroes”. The concept centres on the story of a young eagle named Buddy, who forms a team of heroes with his friends and introduces children to the wonders of nature and the environment in an age-appropriate manner. The programme combines interactive stations in nature with digital elements and an accompanying activity booklet. The newly redesigned Witches’ Learning Trail is also part of the concept, launching with a refreshed design, new content, and an expanded app experience.
Flitz Family Trail Wald · Outdoorregion Imst
In Nassereith, the Flitz Family Trail Wald offers a new adventure for active families. Open from March to November (weather permitting), the Flitz Kids Trail provides an ideal introduction to mountain biking, while the Flitz Flow Trail offers challenges for slightly more advanced riders. Return routes lead along the stream, across a bridge and via the Flitz Up Trail. A playground with puzzles inspired by the legend of the mysterious Gafleiner adds another fun element to the experience.
New “Sunny Mountain Carts” track · Paznaun-Ischgl
A new “Sunny Mountain Carts” track is set to open in Kappl in the Paznaun-Ischgl region. The three-wheeled carts roll from the top station down to the Alblitt lift’s valley station through meadows and forests, offering a stable, safe riding experience. The attraction is designed for families and groups of friends and promises an exciting outdoor adventure.
“Wildcat” summer toboggan run · Seefeld Region– Tirol’s High Plateau
After a break of several years, the ‘Wildcat’ summer toboggan run on the Katzenkopf in Leutasch in the Seefeld region is back in operation. Stretching over 1,200 metres, the run offers adrenaline, fun and entertainment for the whole family. Children aged three and above can ride accompanied by an adult, while those aged eight and over may ride independently.
Detective trail on the Bergkastel · Tiroler Oberland – Nauders
The family-friendly “Goldwaldweg” hiking trail at the Goldseebahn lift in Nauders will soon be complemented by an interactive puzzle rally. The trail combines outdoor activity with playful learning, inviting children and families to discover the region’s gold story in an entertaining way.
Zugspitze Forest Slide Park · Tiroler Zugspitz Arena
The Zugspitze Forest Slide Park in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena will open in summer 2026 as a new leisure highlight for families. This unique adventure trail leads through woodland at the foot of the Wetterstein mountains and features several slides of varying lengths and designs. The attraction is designed for both children and adults alike.

Culture
Escape Room at the Museum of Tirolean Farmhouses · Alpbachtal
Starting from spring 2026, the Museum of Tirolean Farmhouses in Alpbachtal will offer a one-of-a-kind puzzle landscape unlike any other in Austria. Seven historic farmhouses are being converted into an interactive escape room experience. The central story revolves around a day labourer seeking work as he explores Tirol’s history, with learning and historical insights remaining a key part of the experience alongside the fun and thrill of solving puzzles. The activity is intended for teams of six to eight people, including families, adults, and corporate or group visitors. A simplified version is available for children aged 12 and over and teenagers.
“Legends of Oetz” discovery trail · Ötztal
The new “Legends of Oetz” discovery trail in the Ötztal provides an interactive adventure rally through the village centre. Ten stations featuring short audio and video clips, tasks, and puzzles enable visitors to explore Oetz in a fun, digital way. The entirely digital trail requires no physical signage and can be used flexibly, allowing the experience to be enjoyed year-round.

From March 2026, Innsbruck will unveil a new venue for all who cherish the Heart of the Alps. Located at Museumstraße 1, tradition and innovation combine to create a distinctive brand and experience that captures the essence of Tirol beyond its mountain peaks. Visitors to the provincial capital will soon be able to explore the exclusive Tirol Shop collection – featuring clothing inspired by Tirol alongside carefully selected handcrafted products from Tirolean businesses – as well as fine regional alpine cuisine and a lively cultural meeting point. Weller Bridge: accessible hiking trail · Ötztal
Following comprehensive renovation works last autumn, the Weller Bridge in the Ötztal reopens in spring 2026. It will provide a fully accessible hiking route from the central car park in Oetz to the bridge and onwards to the Steg end point. The trail is graded red difficulty. The bridge itself has been widened in the middle to circa 1.5 metres, allowing visitors to enjoy views of the Ache River while also providing sufficient turning space for walkers using rollators or wheelchairs.
Disc Golf Mountain Downhill Course · Seefeld Region – Tirol’s Hochplateau
In May 2026, a new disc golf course will open on the Rosshütte in the Seefeld region. The course features 18 diverse holes that wind through forests, across alpine meadows, and along well-maintained paths, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced players. The start point is easily accessible by cable car, enabling players to begin high on the mountain before gradually descending towards the valley. After hole 9, the Hochegg Alm offers an ideal spot for a relaxing break.
New Trail Running Routes · Wildschönau
Six new trail running routes are currently being developed in the Wildschönau. The network will include two easy, two intermediate and two challenging routes, ensuring options for runners of all abilities.
ZillerGym: workout with mountain views · Fügen-Kaltenbach Holiday Region
The new ZillerGym is being created between Fügen and Aschau in the Zillertal as a freely accessible outdoor training area for sports enthusiasts. Along the Ziller promenade, seven stations equipped with professional fitness equipment invite runners and cyclists to pause for balance, back-strengthening and mobility exercises. The concept combines endurance training with targeted strength workouts in a beautiful alpine setting.
aktiv arena Westendorf · Kitzbüheler Alpen – Brixental
A new activity and meeting space is being developed at the swimming pool area in Westendorf in the Kitzbühel Alps. The new leisure facilities include a playground, pumptrack, callisthenics area, boccia court, marble run and spacious chill-out zones. The area is set to become a lively gathering place for families, teenagers, and adults alike.
